We have just returned from a new years break and found the hotel fine, the staff were great and went the extra mile to look after us, the food was very good with plenty of choice and plenty of it.The hotel is in a great position on the front near the pier. One little niggle was we had booked a sea view room but to get to the room required going through several doors as the building is like a rabbit warren as my wife uses a wheelchair this was quite difficult as one door was too narrow for the chair to fit through but all in all the hotel is clean, warm, comfortable with good food so we had a very good time

Lovely hotel set in a prime position the room was fabulous but the food was awful just like school dinners - very close to all the shops and the prom I would go again but just have room only or bed and breakfast

This hotel has been partly refurbished and has a very pleasant decor, good quality beds and is spotlessly clean. It is very well positioned near to shops and overlooking the sea. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and bar prices are reasonable. Never had to wait very long for service in spite of hotel being full. There is plenty of seating in the public rooms and this was also a bonus. The only thing letting this hotel down is the food, particularly the evening meal. Some of the meals were rather strange and vegetables were clearly frozen and then overcooked. On one night we were served some excellent roast beef but it was accompanied by stuffing and pigs in blankets. Not a good combination!! Three of our group ordered the nut roast which was also accompanied by pigs in blankets. There is some strange menu planning going on in the kitchen and the concept of vegetarianism is not quite understood. The swimming pool featured in advertising was not open and apparently has not been for some time. This should have been made clear when booking and was a disappointment. Overall we enjoyed our stay, due mainly to the very pleasant staff and the nicely refurbished rooms. Would go again but might eat out in the evening!!

Hardworking staff and no complaints from this pleasant hotel. Food was lovely and ample amounts. Great position on the seafront. Hygiene good, masks always worn by staff and hand sanitizer everywhere. Enjoyed our stay.

Arrived..for Christmas .given a doubled room second floor...room very tired and in need of renovating carpets stained. Room small, Public areas ground floor, bars dining room are nice well looked after and clean. Staff very friendly and polite service is good.. The food,.. choice good but a little strange. Breakfast Buffet style, English breakfast not hot enough. Christmas day..Breakfast from 7.30...Christmas Dinner (we chose 12.30) Dinner fine but no wine, had the glasses on the table but empty...18.30 Told it was lite supper...( expecting tea) but strangely another full Dinner ..choice of various starters...the choice of main course which strangely included Pie Chips and gravy ..Fish chips and mushy peas...cheese/ham salad...or a curry...then choice of sweets.. How strange is that,.... Boxing Day all the Christmas decorations on the dinning room tables had gone..as if to say Christmas has finished...not the best Christmas we've had I must say...Booked through Shearings took us 8 hour to arrive and 9 hours on return...The coach Driver and crew where great...they looked after us well...how they cope doing this job amazes me....
