This family run hotel is a home away from home. All staff were very friendly, the breakfast was lush, with all manner of food on the menu, table service too. I could not fault the cleanliness of the room, I stayed for six days and it was spotless on my afternoon return, they even folded the toilet roll!!! The TV...

They say that if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything at all. But I also believe that you should tell it like it is.... This place is so dated and could be made really nice with just a little effort. But even that would appear to be last on the agenda. I can't fault the staff,...

This is a good value budget hotel situated very conveniently for the football ground and town centre pubs, etc. The twin bedded room was warm and the bed comfortable. The shower isn't a power shower but got the job done. Breakfast included cereals, fruit and a cooked option that was good and plentiful. All in all a great place for...

We needed to watch our budget on a recent trip to the UK and decided to stay in the Carlton as it had a solid rating and a budget price. We were very happy with our choice. Located in a lovely Georgian corner of Ipswich, walking distance from the centre and lots of entertainments, the hotel is clean, warm, and...

Rooms were very dated, a work mate and myself stayed in a twin room which was about the same size as a standard single room in most of the hotels we stay in with work. The shower was a dribble in the "en-suite" which was like a large wardrobe! The only positive I could find was the breakfast although due...

Hotel requires decorating all the way through ... But it was a pleasant stay. We were only there one night. Room was outdated but very comfortable. Full English breakfast was fantastic. Welcoming approach by owner was excellent and was there always if needed We will be using again, most definitely.

At £55 for a twin ensuite room with an excellent comprehensive cooked breakfast - this hotel, just a 5 minute walk to the town centre represents decent value for money. Our room was clean, the beds were OK, the ensuite was functional with the shower OK, although no shampoo. The tea and coffee making facilities were good. The old style...

Should had checked Tripadvisor feedback but didn't! Booked 2 rooms with ensuits driven by price and location. Regretted badly! Hotel is in a very poor condition: overall rundown, showers didn't work, stained carpets and bedsheets, windows didn't work, radiator wasn't connected to pipes, basin tap constantly leaking. The place is on edge of being acceptable and needs a full refurb!!...

Cheapish b&b near centre with free parking and WiFi.Rooms need decoration urgently and the electrics in my room were dangerous with a broken plug socket. TV was minute and shower was at best tepid.Breakfast however was great with lots of choice and plentiful. Staff were helpful and courteous. A bit over priced but OK.
