I recently stayed for two nights at this hotel to attend an event being held there on 4 September 2022 that I was involved in organising. My room was clean, spacious, quiet and comfortable and the cleaning staff were efficient and courteous. The varied breakfast was excellent value for money and catered fir all tastes. We were allocated a conference room for our event and it took several months to manage the function due to the large number of attendees. The assistance given to this end by Costin and his team at Novotel Stevenage was flawless - nothing was too much trouble and, as a result, on the day everything came together perfectly. The food service, a buffet, was perfectly prepared and the bar staff courteous, polite and efficient. If you are planning to stay here and / or hold an event or conference I would wholeheartedly recommend the hotel and its staff.

Hotel was dated with a lot of work needed to bring up to modern Standards from the outside. Weird bathroom/toilet room with the toilet being separate to the bathroom. Breakfast only served until 10 on a Sunday, when most people rise quite late

Start with a positive, reception staff &chef very pleasant helpful but clearly stressed and frustrated . Friday kept awake half the night with group in and out shouting and singing.. Sunday morning breakfast OMG No staff just the chef trying to do everything, consequence No tea/coffee/juice, No toast, tables filthy. So quick exit home for a drink. Very disappointed.

For what it is, it’s okay. The rooms are comfy & clean + modern. There is free on-site parking + outdoor seating area to enjoy drinks etc. The food is just bang average, nothing to write home about - typical chain restaurant food and mass processed breakfast buffet you can expect in the morning. Some of the staff are just odd, no other real way of describing them. One young lad at breakfast this morning you could tell just hated being there and was on his phone most of the time. This place really is designed for quick stop overs, you don’t want to spend more than a day here tops.

Carpets in the rooms are badly stained in a number of places and in desperate need of replacing. Toilets have brown stains around the rim. Walls have scuff marks and dodgy looking stains. Shower controls are leaky and have been for some time, as water leaking from them has stained the bath. This could be a decent hotel with a few long overdue refurbishments.

Good sized room and comfortable as always, I have stayed here maybe half a dozen times on business, friendly and helpful staff. A few areas looking a little tired now, some of the carpets are really badly stained including the one in my room, the only real negative I have.

Used to stay here multiple times a week for a few years between 2015-2018 as and after the hotel was previously being refurbished. Whilst the basics remain the same, it’s lost it’s sparkle. Checking in was transactional at best, no warm welcome or pleasantries. Hotel no longer offers room service, bar service was ok. Room clean although having specifically asking for a room with no adjoinjng door, what did I get, a room with an adjoining door. No major issues. Air con didn’t work so had to sleep with window open and room faced A(1)M side. No upgrade despite being platinum member. Service at breakfast very poor, again, used to be good with two very friendly ladies however either were day off or gone. Gentleman on breakfast service just grunted. They seem to have gone from using the bespoke Novotel pillows to Tesco value. Overall, it’s fine for a nights stay but don’t expect 4* service!

Stayed 2 nights , booked by travel company as part of Wimbledon package . Convenient location just off A1 . Free parking, carpark littered with Corona beer cardboard , bottles, masks etc - still there when we left . Room 125 , clean , comfortable beds ,hot efficient shower and good towels but wasn't serviced during our stay . Pitied the poor barman ,long queue and seemed to be serving meals as well as the bar on our 1st night. Evening meal , mediocre pub food standard . Breakfast okay, no uncleared tables to eat inside so moved outside and ate amongst litter and glasses from the night before ! I appreciate that lots of hotels are experiencing staffing problems at the moment but ...... Hopefully this hotel won't be offered by the travel company next year .

We checked in ok, but we were allocated a different room than we booked. When we went in there was a table stood on its side. Random. The toilet was filthy it had. It been cleaned properly and there were deep pee stains on the seat. The room had a fridge to keep drinks and a tea/ coffee station which was nice. The garden area although being near the A1 was really nice and secluded as it was partitioned by trees. We decided to have dinner out and not in the restaurant. When we returned and retired to bed we noticed there were glitter shapes in the bed, so we decided to sleep on top of the duvet (it was a warm night). Breakfast in the morning was interesting as there was only one lad trying to run the whole front of house and he was overwhelmed as the food was cold and he could not replenish the items missing. The pastries were pleasant though. It was below the standard I’d expect for the price I paid and I would not stay again.

I’m not sure what the 4 stars are for? There is no gym or spa and the breakfast is pretty poor, I’ve had better food at Ibis and Premier Inn. A part from the price and the surface area of the room which to me was unnecessary, I don’t see the value for my money.
