As always lovely friendly staff and spotlessly clean. Shame that the Beefeater next door is quite grotty and you have to eat your breakfast there! Very convenient for the motorway and the Lister Hospital
I needed a hotel that was close to the Lister Hospital in North Stevenage as I was visiting a friend Thursday / Friday, who was a patient at the hospital. - this hotel was literally next door, very easy to find just off J.8 of the A1M. It had a Harvestor reataurant attached, providing good quality breakfast and evening meal facilities. Car park is free and you are allowed up to 24 hours parking on an overnight stay - very convenient as check out was at mIdday and there was no pressure for me to vacate the car park and try to find parking at the very busy hospital next door. Room was up to the usual consistent standards you find at Premier Inns and the staff went out of their way to be helpful - very efficient.
Welcoming and staff very poor. We waited 20 min outside hotel as no reception staff and door locked. No one came to clean the room after a days stay. The room quality was very good. Other than that its just a bed to sleep.
We booked this hotel as a mini adventure for me, my autistic son and my mum as we wanted to see family nearby and explore beyond the town - funds are so tight that this was literally our only 'holiday'!! We had a movie night planned in the room and the next morning we were aiming to go for an explration walk then chill in the room til check out. My son loves staying in hotel rooms and has only had this opportunity twice before so we opted for this little experience! Everything was as hoped (clean, friendly, great price, location expect one thing.Only main issue with this hotel on our stay was the awful level of humidity in our room - we were on the ground floor too. We were advised that is had no aircon, and the window cracked open a little, but it made barely any difference. Staff were very apologetic and advised contacting the company to discuss this, and we certainly did not have a good night sleep. We all felt very crochety and groggy the next day - none of us drink alcohol so couldn't even blame that:) Staff were helpful and understanding but said they could not help directly with any refund as per the Good Night Guarantee, but said we needed to contact the company direct and feedback and follow the process as they needed more people to complain about the lack of aircon and uncomfortable warmth/humidity in the rooms. I'm not one for complaining and prefer to collaborate to resolve, although I am pushing for a refund this time (my mum paid, she is a pensioner!) on principle. Once this hotel gets some aircon for the summer months, then it will be spot on in every way and we will return, as it is a good location for us to see family and explore Herts.…
Since I stayed in Premier Inn in May for the first time, I decided not to stay in any Premier Inn again due to the unsatisfactory states of the room and services. However, I was quite amazed at the clean and comfortable room at the Stevenage. And all the staff including the cleaning lady were kind, friendly and hepful. I want to thank the lady staff for allowing my early check-in.
Very disappointed with no airconditioning in the hotel, especially during a heat wave. Would have preferred a king size bed rather than a double. The room was airless and the fan provided was inadequate. It is considered too expensive to install airconditioning. I would have expected much better from Premier Inn.
OK I should have read the facilities available.... but every other Premier in I have stayed at seems to have AirCon. They did provide a large fan , which was nice to push the existing hot air around the room. Also for safety reasons the window would only open enough to get my hand out sideways. Because you needed to have the window open, the noise of the traffic was great till the early hours. Ended up sleeping on the floor, under the barely open window. You should be fine here during the winter.
We had to visit the Lister Hospital for a day of tests and an early start. We found this Premier Inn literally next door and so went the evening before. Perfect location. With a Brewster on site and free parking we made a bit of a trip of our visit.
Good location, excellent meals and friendly staff. My room was well prepared before my arrival. Good facilities offered which included a good television combined with the cleanliness of the room. The hotel is ideal for a keen cyclist which is served well by safe cycling routes in and around Stevenage.
The usual excellent Premier Inn standards our only complaint that the room was very hot. There was a large fan which was working but not giving off any wind. My husband being the clever clogs he is took off the front and cleaned the blades, it then worked perfectly. A tip for the maintenance people?
