Having stayed in hundreds of hotels from two star to five, I can confidently say Meryan House is my all time fave. The first thing that struck me is that the owners, Cherry and Nick have obviously spent decades lavishing their love into the house. It's like one huge country antique shop. At every turn, including the bedrooms, there are...

We chose to hold the wake for my late Mum here on the recommendation of one of her friends, and it turned out to be a very good choice. Cherry and her team made us feel very, very welcome. The venue is very homely. We were greeted by a roaring fire, and the food served is a cut above for...

We arrived in Bishops Hull after a long journey down from Yorkshire. We were greeted and made to feel welcome by very friendly owners and quickly shown to our room. I had booked a twin room for me and my brother as we were attending a Funeral Service the following day. Room No 11 was spacious and welcoming. The beds...

Had about 30 guests here for a birthday party last night. We had mulled wine, a lovely buffet dinner, great food, and great service. It was a very relaxed evening and all our guests had a really lovely time. Thank you very much indeed.

I had no idea what to expect since my wife made the arrangements. I just knew that some of the rooms were quirky and all the rooms were different. Ah to my amazement I really delighted. The place was very peaceful since it is located in a quiet part of town. The rooms was a mix of interesting items that...

Lovely hotel - my room 10 was amazing and the bed was so comfortable I was loathe to leave it. We stayed for 1 evening only but wished it had been longer. Very welcoming, lovely log fire in the bar. Very tasty breakfast. Also had lunch delivered to the office by the proprietor. Wonderful!

A very old building, consequently quaint. Homely in a good way. Sufficient car-parking space. The hostess could not have been nicer, gave us a most warm welcome and made sandwiches because we arrived late in the evening. The bar had a roaring log fire and a juke-box! The bedrooms are all different and all clean and comfy. I slept very well....

Rooms gorgeous, mein host couldn't do more to help - very friendly and chatty But oh - the woman who made the breakfast! What a sour puss - to cook scrambled eggs was far too much trouble and when I came to pay, it was too much trouble for me to pay by card. She needs to go on a...
