Let me just say I'm not a fussy person very easy to please and can put up with most things I feel this is a very honest review and its not critical it's just honest feedback especially with what we have just gone through with the pandemic. OK let's start with the good things we stayed in room 101 nice big room the furnishing however are very shabby the tea and coffee not so good the tea bags are not wrapped just loose along with the coffee sachets the sheets bedding very clean . All in all the room is very basic as is the bathroom dirty shower curtain very off putting and no plastic beaker to put your tooth brush half a toilet roll left on the holder from previous guests . The staff are lovely and very helpful the breakfast room was one of the worst I have experienced very poor I would say the chef however was wonderful and very attentive my friend had vegetarian and he went out of his way to make sure she had everything she needed I had the small breakfast started with cornflakes very cheap not nice at all I couldn't eat my breakfast the the produce was cheap and nasty I did have some toast. I think this hotel has such potential but is let down by such silly things the bread for your toast is left in the bags so all and sundry put their hands in to make toast no tongues. Get your toast made before your breakfast arrives or it will get cold. We was woken very early by a man effing and Jeffing below our room had to be staff as it was in the big room below us. All in all the hotel and room seemed rundown and being run on a budget the bar area is very quirky the young girl behind the bar was lovely as was the receptionist and the chef.…
Went for a meal with family kitchen staff were extremely friendly food was very nice and came out piping hot couldn't be any better keep up the great work would decibels come again and try all the amazing food they have to offer
Stayed for non consectutive nights, Sunday & Friday. All staff really friendly, helpful and welcoming - a family run Hotel, relaxed and inviting, very refreshing! The Sunday we had a Carvery & it was absolutely delicious! Couldn't fault it and value for money. Our room and en-suite were very clean & tidy and spacious. Had a great evening in the newly refurbished Bar, It's quirky and full of Memorobila, loved it! Returned on the Friday and the bar had live music which was just the best! We really thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beach is an approximate 5 minute walk from the Hotel through a little wooded area....It really felt just that little bit more secluded....Will return to stay and see more transformations - this Hotel is having a marvellous makeover! :)
We booked a table for the Sunday carvery while we were visiting Skeggy, the dining area and pub inside the hotel was really spacious and clean, and the food was amazing! The pub itself was really pop-cultural with lots of movie and music memorabilia and Americana decorating the walls and shelves, and had a really nice vibe. Definitely worth popping in there on the way to/back from Gibraltar Point, which is about a 5mins drive further down Drummond Road. Definitely worth a visit for the carvery though - the staff were lovely as well, and the hotel rooms/lobby etc looked amazing.
