Lovely staff who were very amenable. Free parking and decent bar (but try the Spider and fly across road if you want something a little more trendy) Very pleasant stay, and nice short walk across the river to the city centre. Good base from which to visit the castle.

We stayed here for the night for a family party we were going to locally. The staff are exceptional! They were really accommodating and couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were clean and the bar and lunch we had was lovely and a very generous portion. The receptionist who was on duty on the Saturday evening was super helpful and although I did not get her name really does deserve a special mention. Well done to all it was a breath of fresh air to stay somewhere with such amazing customer service.

Stayed 3 nights. Nice room, very convenient for city centre, without being in the middle of it, friendly staff and food was excellent both breakfast and dinner. Car park was very busy while restaurant was open but always managed to find a space Only concern was that menu had only one vegetarian option and that contained mushroom which my vegetarian partner is allergic to but when we mentioned it at reception they willingly arranged for dish to be prepared without the offending mushrooms

Had a decent 3 night stay with my partner.Only faults were the hotel bar area is cold. They need to put the heating on.Also had go up and down all those stairs on 2 occasions to ask reception to let us into our room as key didn't work. And lift was out of order.

Just had a autumn break at this hotel. Very pleased with our stay,. Staff are friendly and helpful can't do enough for you. Evening meals were Really nice, buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. Bedroom was nice and clean with plenty of complementary tea ,coffee ,biscuits ,crisps. I would say all the room/ bathroom needs is a little decorating. This is my second stay, and I would recommend for a visit. Close to 3 supermarket's, nice pub/ restaurant/ chip shop across the road. 15 minutes walk to city centre.
