Would just like to say another fantastic meal at this Establishment and the helpings are so good we had to request smaller helpings. Staff as always very friendly and cost is reasonable but I always say you don't mind paying more because as stated everything is brilliant.

Very good restaurant for families the food was excellent and the vegetables cooked to perfection. The prices were reasonable. The only downside is could find was the lack of parking on sight and you had to park on the street.

Second time at this restaurant with my family and although l won't criticise the food which l suppose is what you go for the eatery is terminally miserable. The staff are the epitome of acorn antiques, there's not a lot going on with Customer interaction and the result is a kind of sleepy experience with only generous helpings of sedation...

Suitable for large groups, seating choice of bar area or dining room. Menu choices a bit dated and portions far too big. So much veg and chips wasted. Dessert menu dated. Place needs bringing into the modern day, redecorated to appeal to younger age groups and young families.

There is a story to how an came to know anything about a small hotel just outside the centre of Carlisle. It is very personal and may not be of interest to everyone, but the care and compassion we found within the walls of Vallum House will remain with me forever - and I do not exaggerate. My elderly parents...

A basic little hotel that could do with a little updating but provided a clean, fairly comfortable night's accommodation. Ideally located to cut down on the distance of the last leg to Bowness on Solway for Wall Walkers like us. Also had dinner and found the food to be fairly good and generously portioned. All in all, a fine stay.
