Went here for a weekend stay with my friend. We booked it because we wanted to stop in a B&B in a pub with a real fire. We were not disappointed, The staff were amazing from the moment we arrived. They had put us in a double room, but we would have preferred a twin. They immediately changed another room...

We ate here for Sunday lunch, I had the roast beef which was amazing, I asked for just roast potatoes, no mash, and they sent 6, which were the roast potatoes we're the best I've ever had! The veg that was served alongside was just the right amount! I loved that they brought the bread out while we were looking...

We had Christmas lunch here and the food was really lovely - apparently there is a new chef, so maybe some of the older reviews aren't accurate anymore as the food was very good. It's Definitely worth a visit, if you live in the area or are passing through.

Family meal went on Sunday afternoon. Had steak pie. My fave! Lovley roasted veg and nicely presented. Food is amazing 1 of my fave places to eat! I went with my toddler which they prepared her mash and veg which she enjoyed they put us in the bar which is understandable with a child. The service is good even though...

Went to a wedding here yesterday the food was lovely the staff were great very hard working. I met the manager/owner and he was very lovely and understanding even after me being taken ill and it was very swiftly dealt with by the poor ladies who had to clean! I'm so embarrassed but very grateful with how it was all...

Having struggled through the last couple of miles off the Hadrian Trail, through bogs and nettles and ill-marked paths - a cider/beer in the garden was most welcome! Our room was comfy, spacious and had not just tea/coffee but fresh shortbread! Dinner was fine, nothing outstanding but perfectly OK. Breakfast - apart from the undercooked croissant - was good. Staff...

We walked in after a hard day on Hadrian's Wall and ended a delicious pint of hand-pulled beer at the bar, then settled in to our room where there was a selection of teas, fresh milk and home-made shortbread. Breakfast was hearty and generous with fruit, yogurt, cerral, toast and a good selection of freshly-cooked traditional items from a traditional...

Visited the GF for the first time after trying to get in here for ages. I was very impressed with the decor as we walked in and were shown to our table after that it went down hill until the deserts. It was a warm day and our table had warm tap water in a bottle waiting for us. The...

After having our wedding here, the list of faults were endless. We found the staff very unorganised, cold and unfriendly. They served our wedding meal before we were in the function room despite arranging speeches and cake cutting to be done beforehand. Had China stored on a toilet floor that I'd hired in (picture included). Staff bothering us constantly on...
