We arrived there about 6pm Saturday evening 21st May and when we asked to book a table for dinner we were told by the receptionist that there were no tables until 9pm. I was not going to accept that and so we went over to the restaurant and saw Allan the General Manager and he found us a table immediately....

Rooms were really clean! Beds are comfy. When we arrived, the rooms were ready for my hubby and I, my 1 yo co slept with us, my hubby's mummy and my 3 yo. Even with 5 ppl, the room was spacious enough for a comfortable stopover. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly,

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and very comfortable. Travelling on my own as a single pensioner I never felt uncomfortable. The staff were only too willing to answer any queries and the waiting staff in the restaurant very attentive

A comfortable inexpensive place to stay when travelling between England and Scotland. One warning; there's no A/C and so on one night our room was very hot despite being cooled by a fan. Food in the restaurant fine but not special - but breakfasts are cooked to order.

We stopped off here on our return trip from Scotland to Hampshire and we found the hotel ideally situated and despite being close to the motorway, we were not disturbed by any noise. Staff were also very friendly.

Our room was way too hot and we could find no way to turn down the heating so had a very stuffy night and didn't sleep very well. I have to say though, that when I mentioned it the next morning I was immediately offered a full refund. I doubt we will ever stay at this particular hotel again but...

If you just want an overnight stop whilst travelling on the M6, this is just the job. Standard PI rooms and standards, good breakfast and helpful staff. It is just about 200 yards away from J42, but the rooms are quiet and we didn't have any problems. Some of the other PI's in Carlisle would be much better situated if...

Location for stopover up/down to Scotland is ideal. Stayed on a Saturday a few weeks ago. Check in no problem, room up to usual standards but place over run with children. Went for an evening meal in the restaurant, sat down at a table and immediately stood on a pat of butter that must have been left over from breakfast....
