We stayed here for 4 nights and wasn't disappointed, our room was at the front of the hotel and the views are stunning! We ate here the first night and the food is very good although not really for every night of our stay as its a limited menu but what we had was lovely. The breakfast is very nice...

One night only meeting friends who were stating elsewhere. Family run hotel, owners could not have been more helpful. Printed off a list of Ballater walks for us. Breakfast excellent. With other guests we watched red squirrels gathering nuts in the garden.

Excellent stay, staff super attentive, food really good and easy access to dog friendly rooms. The menu was short but provided a wide selection of dishes and plenty choice. Rooms were clean and well cared for and the bed very comfortable,

Spent a night here. The room and ensuite were very small but clean. However, the whole place is looking quite tired and dated and in need of an upgrade. Had a meal in the restaurant which was pleasant enough but a bit expensive for what it was.

Our last meal there was definitely average. The menu promises much and the use of local ingredients is to be applauded. So disappointing, therefore, to find dishes overwhelmed...

Sadly after the winter floods Ballater has few eating places at the moment, so,it was good that the Glen Lui hotel was Able to offer us a good meal with wines at a fair price. It may look a little tired in places but as they say it's heart is in the right place. So we had a lovely time...

Having driven down from Oyne to Ballater on our unplanned journey, we looked for an hotel to stay at for one night in Ballater. An enquiry at Glen Lui Hotel found us our room for the night. Set beautifully amongst trees, it overlooks the golf course and beautiful views beyond. A member of staff told us the room rate which...

Nice setting opposite the golf course, with a nice garden. The rooms are nice and big. We enjoyed the stay there. We ate dinner in the hotel which was good but not great and VERY expensive. Not recommended.

This place has character and a good restaurant on site, but some of the rooms need a little love. My parents stayed in a nice room on the front side of the hotel with a view, which was fine. My smaller room in the back smelled a little old, was dark, and had carpet in the bathroom. The key is...
