Excellent facilities accommodation and service leading to a glitch free experience. The room size was appropriate for our needs and the heating also without being overbearing. The bar and restaurant area has beautiful panoramic view across the golf course and the Mimram valley. Easy reach from the A1(M), A414 and B1000
This is a real gem in Welwyn Garden City. Very kind, friendly, and helpful staff. Small, but very nice and clean room. Quiet location (some minor noise from a distant road is audible) looking at the golf course. The centrr of WGC is in walkable distance (about 20min). I'll be back
It was a reasonably priced room but showing signs of wear and tear. It would be good if you just want somewhere reasonably priced to stay. Extremely well stocked beverage tray and the addition of an iron and ironing board was a nice touch. We found the room difficult to sleep in and the rooms aren't very well sound-proofed. If you're expecting 5 star luxury this isn't it but that wasn't what we paid for. It was well priced for what we received.
Great little place with a lovely view over the golf course. Ideal for working away. It has a nice restaurant and bar and is close to welwyn for other amenities. Highly recommend. The only reason I scored it lower for value is that I think all hotels in the area are a bit pricy!
It is at least a 10 minute walk to the rooms round the terrace of the bar which is full of tables and chairs so like an obstacle course so would be awful with luggage on a full capacity day! The blinds are old and broken - no privacy at all so really bad. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean, sadly that's the only good thing I can say about the whole experience. Never again!
We live locally and having not been to The View for some months, and hearing it was under new management with a new menu, we decided to give it a try for a light lunch. Ordered the homemade sausage roll with a side of chips and 2 coffees. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, approx 8 to 10 other customers. We waited a very long time for the food to come out and when it eventually appeared it was luke warm and we still had to ask again for our coffees, which we were told had been forgotten! The sausage rolls were OK but rather dry. We will be back to give it another chance as an alternative to Tewinbury Farm but hopefully service will be alot quicker next time and food up to the standard you'd expect from a restaurant owned by Tewinbury Farm.
Ok, where do I start? We arrived and were checked in to our two rooms swiftly and after dumping our bags in our rooms we returned to the bar area for some drinks and a snack before changing for diner. The sandwich was fine and the drinks served quickly. We were made feel very welcome! We left for diner at a local restaurant and returned whilst the bar was still open so we managed a couple of nightcaps and retired for the night. The rooms were fine and the beds comfortable. On rising we returned to the club house for breakfast which was excellent! And, again, we were provided with excellent service and made very welcome. All in all we had a really great experience and thanks to all the staff! Thanks Guys!
We stayed at the view as it was less than two minutes by car to another hotel for a wedding and we were not disappointed we had a room which seems to of been updated in decor but alas the heating was not working but was immediately dealt with by the wonderful manager who moved us to another room which was so toasty and warm and the shower was fantastic although not as big as some hotels this was fantastic for my wife and I and was a very quiet night as no functions were on for our particular stay. Set on a golf course it was a good view.
I have stayed at The View several times whilst returning to WGC to visit family. I know the property will always be of a good, clean standard. Some solo travelers may not like that reception is unmanned at night, so you can feel pretty much on your own on site!
Food was not as advertised and has deteriorated in quality and presentation massively. The explanation was that the new chef is “in training”. Order was wrong and tartare sauce missing from a fish and chips.
