This is the third year running that I have taken my elderly mother to Sidmouth and I would not consider looking at any other hotel. The welcoming and friendly staff, the lovely garden, fantastic food and comfortable rooms are just perfect. Its quiet location within easy level access to seafront, public gardens and town centre add to its charms. No...

This Hotel is situated in a road off the sea front towards Connaught Gardens.. It has a couple of nice lounges and a lawn if one wants to sit out. But my bedroom was very tiny, certainly not what I would expect for the price I paid. Breakfast was not served until 8 o;clock unless one paid a surcharge and even...

We have been going to this hotel for many years. It has a charm all if it's own . The food and the service are all excellent and as the hotel is family run there is usually one of the family in attendance to oversee things. The hotel is also perfectly situated and as it is not on the front...

We booked at the last minute and was offered the only room available 25. We were told that the room was small, as we were only in Sidmouth for two days we decided to take it. The size of the room was no problem, but the room itself left much to be desired. Upon entering there was a very strong...

Although a little out of the way, this is the only grade 1 listed hotels in Sidmouth. As with the vast majority of hotels in the town it trades very much on its Victorian past and every public room looks so very in keeping. The staff here are fabulous.

We went to the Royal Glen for two days to watch our local cricket team play Sidmouth C.C. and what a find, the Royal Glen is so conveniently situated close to the promenade and the town but far enough away for a restful sleep at night. The staff are first class and very attentive to any needs or requests. The food...

This is a lovely hotel. I had a single room with a double bed and lovely view onto gardens. It was so quiet and I slept very well. The staff were nice and both the breakfast and dinner were delicious. It was good value too. I will definitely stay here again.

Stayed for a 3 night bank holiday break meeting a friend for some walking. I booked a single room at the last minute and was pleased with my room the Garden room, best thing was the door into the garden where I caught the evening sun. The room is small and the bathroom is tiny with the toilet and shower...

I wanted somewhere on that part of the coast in order to do some long coastal walks. I wouldn't normally stay in a town hotel as I prefer peace and quiet but the Royal Glen fitted the bill.
