Arrived to a friendly welcome and tea & biscuits; given a parking pass immediately and shown to a clean and comfy bedroom. The owner was lovely and gave us lots of helpful info about places to visit, and cooked a great breakfast too. Shame he couldnt help with the weather - wet and cold :( We had excellent evening meals... More

We all trundled off to The Dolphin guest house to celebrate Grandad's Birthday. We had a wonderful time. Grandad got a card and a cake from Gary. It was very yummy. We went to Filey, then into the sea for a paddle and eat fish and chips. We stayed in the family room and had lovely breakfasts with flat eggs, sausages... More

I searched tripadvisor and found this place. Being an old cynic I thought that the reviews were probably exaggerated. Not a bit of it. I paid £114 for the weekend for me and wifey and it was ridiculously underpriced. Every comment mentioned how helpful and friendly Gary was. I presumed he had written them himself! Once again, all completely on... More

We stayed here for one night during half term. We were able to park directly outside and upon arrival Gary made us feel very welcome. The children even got a lollipop! The family room was a very good size for a family of five, bunk beds and a separate single for the children. The room was clean and fresh and... More

We stopped at the Dolphin for the weekend and had a lovely time. Gary was such a genuinely nice man, very helpful carrying our bags to our room and making our stay as comfortable as possible. The guesthouse was spotless and our room cleaned daily. We will definitely book again when in Scarborough. Thank you Gary

We visited as a family of 5 for 3 nights and we all wish we could have stayed longer. Gary is by far the nicest host I have ever encountered. Such a welcoming smile and genuine friendliness. The location is perfect for north Bay. The breakfast is lovely. Tons of cereal and toast. Coffee pots and giant tea pots and... More

A friend and I spent four nights at the Dolphin last week (October 12th - 15th) and found it an excellent establishment; Gary was a charming, helpful and considerate host, we were told to just ask for anything we needed. Because I always feel the cold, another blanket was provided and the heating was turned up! The rooms were large,spacious... More
