Working farm with converted barn for cottages. Close access to the animals and we were there at lambing time which was great. Close proximity to both Whitby and Scarborough for days out. There's also a tea room although we didn't use it.

This was the 2nd time we have stayed at The Grainary. It is such a special place to stay. The staff are so friendly and nothing was too much trouble - they really did make me and my family feel at home. The food is fantastic (especially the cakes) and is all made from scratch. Our children particularly liked playing...

Main courses, three had braised beef, one pork with crackling. All very good, served with nicely roasted potatoes, excellent Yotkshire puddings, swede and carrot mash and a variety of vegetables...

We stayed in Foxglove cottage which had lovely views to the rear and a very friendly sheep which loved to come and say hello! There is a enclosed garden around the cottage which was good for our dog as she could not abscond! There was also the option for a hot tub at an extra charge. The cottage was beautifully...

This place was a midweek break for myself, husband and daughter. And it was definitely the best choice for our needs. There was only ourselves and a few other couples there during our stay. Staff were all so friendly and helpful. And straight away we were made to feel very welcome. Whilst unloading the car, our little girl was asked...
