Yet another hotel stuck in a time warp but there again what do you expect from a 2* pit that charges 5 shillings and tuppence for a weeks sentence sorry a weeks stay!! Just as bad as its sister jail across town, cant fault the staff tho just its owners for not putting any profit back into the place

Dear oh dear where do I start?!!!! Actually, I will start by saying that I have stayed in many hotels over many years and understand value for money and 'you get what you pay for'... but my god there has to be limits!! To give you an idea of how bad this place is, I am compelled to write this...

Arrived with my boyfriend at reception and was met by very disinterested staff. After making payment we were given verbal instructions on how to locate our ground floor room - one of these directions included walking through the dining room... We left and made our way around the corner to the dining room. A member of staff then tried to...

(Also run the shower for at least 5 minutes as it took a while to warm up). I stayed in room 364. Didn't have any food or drink in the hotel...

The room is a decent size but grimy and very tatty. It has clearly not been updated for quite a long time. The window frames were rotting, there were numerous ominous looking stains on everything and I kept my slippers on as didn't want my bare feet on the frankly dirty carpet. The location of the hotel is excellent and...

I did not like being awoke by police knocking at the door during the night because they'd had a call but didn't know from which room. Apparently they had to do random room checks. I also didn't like that the lift was out of order (there are 4 floors) and a very elderly couple were left to struggle up the...

We travelled with Just Go! for the first time - and last! The weekend package was billed as a York and Steam Train deal, however, we were staying in Scarborough - an hour and a half further on from York. We were met at the Clifton Hotel, Scarborough by very rude staff because we were late arriving - hardly our...
