We booked a last minute overnight stay 7th/8th may in a double room. When we arrived we had been upgraded to a large family room with a sea view free of charge. What a lovely surprise!!!! The young lady on reception was very polite and professional . Our room was very clean with a lovely view of the sea to... More

We stayed for a night over the bank holiday. It wasn't a bad rate for £70 for 1 night and breakfast included. The one reason we booked here is because it has a pool so something to do when you get there. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Always smiling and happy to answer any questions. The hotel is... More

Stayed there in April 2016 as part of a team working on the Tour of Yorkshire cycle events. Rooms clean and tidy, albiet a little small. There was a large dinner event also taking place the same evening but the hotel catered quite well considering. A reasonably stocked bar and prices

I stayed here recently to attend an AGM which was also held in the hotel. I was fortunate to have a huge room with a sea view. The bathroom was immaculate. The restaurant staff were very good and it was unusual to have waiter service at breakfast rather than a buffet but this was because they offered so much choice!... More

We stayed over Easter, we had stayed here on 3 occasions when the hotel was owned by Mr and Mrs Lea. Our room on this visit was small, and drab. Previously our rooms had been better. We were part of a coach party, some of which had far larger rooms, it appears that there was no common denominator to our... More

If staying as a single, make sure you don't get room 121, unless you want to get up at 6 am every morning! Noisy services from below early evening and early morning. Complained about the noise within an hour of arrival and was disappointed not to be offered discount when no alternative room available. Quite pricey, but staff friendly and... More

We thought we would try the Red Lea again after last staying at this hotel about 16 years ago when Mr and Mrs Lee owned the hotel!, we booked on a B&B basis, the hotel is very clean and tidy although a bit old fashioned in places. Sea view bedroom and bathroom were comfortable. Breakfast was average but I am... More

I found the staff very friendly and helpful and the rooms adequate although for the price a little dated. The food for our special evening was delicious and plentiful. Served hot and in a timely manner. The only complaint would be the price per night for bed and breakfast which I felt was a little steep especially as group discount... More

Stayed here when we went to watch UB40 for my parntners birthday, when I said it was for his birthday they gave us a room upgrade, they played a little UB40 in the background while we had some drinks before we set off. It was just such a lovely friendly place. My only regret is that we didn't book two... More
