Stayed for one night. Made to feel very welcome by all staff. Bedroom very nice with a really comfy bed too. Lots of choice on the menu, (and beers etc), food was really good. I had the black pudding and then the sausages, excellent, no room for a dessert. Breakfast was equally as good. This is a real country inn...

We booked a table for 19:15 on 06/05/17. Having been told this was the type of restaurant to "not visit if you're hungry" we were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes, but more so, the quality of the food. The menu is sensible, offering something for everyone and the prices reasonable for what you get. One of the most positive...

Popped in on our way back from our caravan with the kids for a bite to eat. We were greeted and shown to a table in the snug. The service was friendly and quick without making us feel hurried. My wife and I went for the steak and ale pie and it was very nice, the beef was tender and...

We booked for a 2 night 'anniversary' stay. Had they not taken an £80 deposit before we had arrived we would not have stayed the second night. The bedroom was freezing cold (February 2017 and it was sleet outside) when we booked in, only to be told it would have been warmed up if we had given a time of...

we are very sorry that your experience was not to your satisfaction, but i must make a clear point that you did not see a dog in the kitchen and i cannot accept this as the room you saw was indeed a staff room, it is physically impossible to see the kitchen from any public areas and i must emphasize...

We booked a table for Friday night for a birthday treat, and travelled 10 miles each way, to be told that the Restaurant was 'too cold to eat in!' The alternative was to eat in an extremely small, noisy, and crowded public bar, so after asking again, we were 'allowed' into the Restaurant to eat! 2 other parties then joined...

Food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Highly recommend and will definitely be back when visiting the area. The staff made a special effort to accommodate us in a lovely private part of the restaurant.

This is a pub I have frequented many times, I even had my wedding reception there. Therefore I have always expected a good meal and have always received this. That is until recently. The last 3 occasions that I have visited this pub, since it has changed hands, I have been disappointed both with the service and the food. Today...
