This hotel in the centre of town has no parking of its own and a problem if no space along building is available.Great prices for food ,room and drink but the drunken rowdy darts fans from Butlins did Witherspoons no favours and not a good atmosphere for the other patrons.I was in room 104 and got very little sleep because... Dear PooleFisher, Thank you for your review, indeed we have no car park of our own but there is ample on street and some car parks close by. Our Lloyds No1 bar is at the other side of the building from your room, and patrons on leaving both the main bar and Lloyds No1 are moved on as quickly and... More

Comfortable rooms at a very reasonable price. Friendly staff always happy to help. A good location. No parking facilities on site but able to park a short walk away at no cost. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Appalling if I could give no stars I would. Dribble of a shower. Un maintained rooms with chewed up batteries in the remote which didn't operate to. Woken up in earlier hours by screaming shouting and fighting then again at 7 in morning by staff shouting outside door. Couldn't open window to air room as too noisy outside. Couple this... More

Dear Bigmoke666, Thank you for your review, I have no idea which room you were in, but can assure you that at 7am all the staff would have been working and none of them would be on the floors. Nor would they have been rude to a guest. Could they have possibly been other guests? I have asked the Housekeeper... More

Big family room, cleaned ok, some staff attentive, bar & restaurant service a bit hit or miss. Had to ask for decent pillows that had stuffing in them. Unfortunately the family rooms are above the nightclub exit and delivery entrance. We had 4 nights of listening to reversal beepers on service lorries, high metal cages being dragged over metal ramps,... More

Dear Karen N, Thank you for your review It does say on the websites we are on that we have a Lloyds No1 bar which is open at the weekend and some noise is possible. We do try to move the patrons on as quickly and quietly as possible and it seems that on this occasion we failed and for... More

Stayed for two nights on a mini break. Room was clean and comfortable with fresh soft towels provided each day. Great location in town centre so could walk in the evening to eat out or have a drink. Hotel food was good value and plentiful. Would stay again. Everything was provided that would usually cost a lot more.

Ate here as a party of eight , on entering the pub it was really busy but managed to find two tables of four next to each other as some people had just left . The food was great , most of us had the panini deal which was with chips and a soft drink for £4.75 or alcoholic drink... More

I am rating this on Lunchtime as this is my only experience. A glass of wine with buffalo chicken wings & tempura prawns. A lovely lunch. The Prawns were good but the chicken wings were excellent, the blue cheese sauce being exceptional. Prices are very reasonable. I really like the atmosphere in the area of Lounge Bar, immediately on the... More

Just got back from a 3 night stay at the dukes head, not sure where to begin, the main thing that urked me was the parking, there wasn't any, had to park up the road in a residents area which in a way worried me a little. The room was ok, clean, tidy & had everything we needed, we had... More
