#4 of 12 hotels in Minehead
Travellers' Choice
The Northfield Hotel is located on the lower slopes of Northhill in nearly 2 acres of landscaped gardens reputed to have been laid out by Gertrude Jekyll. We have wonderful views from our elevated position from the coast to the Quantocks, Brendon hills, and indeed Exmoor itself, walking from the hotel you are on Exmoor in only a few minutes.

Hotel's Favourite
Felt really relaxed here. Loved the location, handy for seafront. harbour and town but felt off the beaten track as hotel has its own secluded garden where we returned to relax after a day out. Enjoyed the terrace bar. Felt secure with their Covid precautions, having our time slot for dinner (which we chose on booking) and keeping the same table thoughout our stay. Our room was standard double, but had two aspects so plenty of air and ventilation. Hotel looked freshly refurbished inside. Staff very friendly and helpful. Could use pool if booked a slot, only 3 in pool at a time. Only marked sleep down as mattress was too hard for us. The only issue was using the automated booking system before our visit. Booked room OK but when wanted to ask questions or make changes it was easier to ring! Also payment not taken until you leave, even though card number taken at booking. Thanks for a great trip!

Three of us stayed here for a short October break. There is ample car parking on site and it is a short stroll along the esplanade or through a lovely park to the town/shops/cafes/restaurants. The greeting was warm and nothing was too much effort for the staff. Our rooms were spotless, (possibly revamped over lockdown) and one room had a glorious outlook over the lovely gardens and the sea beyond, between the specimen trees. The other looked up at the distant hills over the rooftops. The beds were very comfy with crisp clean linen and ensuites were spacious and looked quite new. We advised them in advance that we intended to use the spa and robes were waiting in our rooms. We loved our time down there relaxing and winding down. The main building has a graceful, slightly art deco charm with an oak panelled dining room, extended further with a lovely light aspect. Breakfasts were superb and our gluten free person was carefully catered for. This is a very dog friendly hotel but were never disturbed during the night. Thank you for a lovely break. Recommended.

Our first visit to this hotel. Staff were all great, friendly and helpful. The hotel building is old but beautifully maintained with fabulous gardens. Our twin room was spacious, clean and had a nice view towards the sea. There is plenty of parking and a short walk to town and the sea front. We stayed half board and the food was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly be back one day.
