If you ever have to fly into Luton, get a cab to Leaside Hotel. The roughly £11 (cash) taxi is worth the visit to this lovely hotel. They looked after us after a very long hard day of missed flights. The beds and shower were awesome and to be asked at breakfast how we might like the avocado to be dressed was simply an amazing “cherry on top”! The staff were just so hospitable and the breakfast (of both cold continental and hot served to order with fresh coffee) is also well worth the extra. You won’t find better value out and about in Luton. After an easy 3-4 minute walk to the train station we are feeling so thankful that our trip is back on track (as we sit on a train to our next destination)!

Myself and my husband booked this hotel as we were going to a concert in Coventry & were visiting Whipsnade zoo the next day so we wanted to stay near.
We checked in about 1am after travelling. I called earlier that day to advise we would be late and the staff were so accommodating and told me exactly how to get the the entrance as it is down a side road. The staff are so friendly and welcoming.
Rooms: the rooms are beautiful, we stayed in 101 - it was equipped with hair dryer, tea/coffee, toiletries, tv, air conditioning, balcony and fee wifi, the shower was very spacious and was a rainfall shower, the bed was king size so lots of space and they were so comfortable, we both slept like logs.
Food: when we checked out we went to their restaurant to get breakfast and the selection they offered was amazing. Everything from full English, including halal options, to American style waffles. It was so tasty and the presentation was exceptional, it come out in about 10 minutes of ordering.
Decor: the decor is so lovely. It’s a cosy quirky vide but with a modern twist. I am currently trying to convince my husband to let me decorate our house like their restaurant- it’s so Boujee I love it.
Everything about this place is beautiful. I would 100% come back!! We are from up north and I would travel down just to spend a few days here - we didn’t get to take full advantage as it was a quick drop stay but the outside seating area gives me holiday vibes. I actually can’t fault anything about it. Top marks from us!

Having enjoyed many family meals and evenings out here before, we were really looking forward to celebrating a family birthday here. Our small party consisted of someone who had recently had back surgery and my 80 year old mother. Knowing they used to have a few high bar stool seatings I made a specific point of requesting a standard low seating / chairs indoors when making the booking over the phone the week before. I was advised that the old conservatory was no longer used and that we would be seated in the main area.

When we arrived we were told there was no low/normal seating inside, that there never is as it’s all high bar stool chairs. These were too high and uncomfortable for a couple of the party and we were naturally disappointed.

Low seating was only available outside which we sat down to have a drink and make a decision. It was 8pm and despite trying other restaurants, it was understandably too late so we did eat at the Leaside.

Service and food were as good as ever.

The seating outside is well laid out, there are several with overhead umbrellas and a larger awning style which we sat under. Some have individual heaters too. From the road side it certainly has had a transformation and looks so much more attractive.

Sadly for us we won’t be returning for another family meal here, it’s lost its appeal for that. We prefer to sit in comfort inside for a meal. The bench seating outside wasn’t very comfortable and I’m not sure what the experience would be if it were raining as the protection is only overhead. That said I do think this certainly attracts the younger generation and that could well be the management’s change in strategy here. Now definitely more a bar / drinking experience.

We would come back for daytime drinks (provided weather good) and nibbles, but an evening meal out, no. No longer really a restaurant in our opinion.

Yesterday I made only my second trip to eat out since COVID 19 hit the UK. A friend had booked a table based on her experience of previous “endless bubbles” parties at the same hotel. My wife had participated and she also recommended it. The Tapas menu looked good and both friend and wife recommended the venue and food.

Unfortunately, this trip, unlike their previous experience, was awful.

Our friend had asked for a particular table location but, on arrival we were shown to the misnamed Waterfont with its spectacular view of the A6, roaring traffic noise and air pollution. The table at which six were to eat was suitable, at a push for two diners. When we queried the location and table size with our waitress, she brought in her supervisor who opened up with”I hear there’s an issue,” told us we could leave if wanted and they’d only just reopene and then walked off in a huff. I’m surprised we could hear her rudeness over the dull thump of the music which meant we had to shout at each other to be heard.

As we had nowhere else to go, we elected (initially) to stay. We arrived at 7 and were seated by 7.10. By 7.35, no one had taken a food order so we attracted a waitress’s attention. At 8.05, a bill for food we hadn’t received was delivered. When we asked where the food was, we were told it would be 45 minutes to an hour to be ready. We queried this as it had been ordered at about 7.40 but were told the order had been put through at 8. We were again told we didn’t have to stay: this time we took the hint.

We complained to the person in charge as we were leaving. We were told again they’d only just opened, they were short staffed and we were left with the distinct impression that we were a nuisance. The manager implied we were lying about the time we ordered food as well as about having been told our table would be in a particular area.

Staff did not wear masks or gloves; the location was tatty and hygiene and safety seemed low priority. Service was the worst I’ve ever experienced.

First and last trip. Not recommended.

Bottomless bubbles has changed........ for the worse! Myself and friends had been excited for over a month for the bottomless brunch for my birthday. The price had gone up from last year but we were fine with that as we knew it would be great quality, how wrong were we? We sat at 8 and I had to ask at 815 for our first drink, now considering we are on a time limit of two hours that’s not acceptable especially when I saw other tables already having refills. The first course of breads came out that was fine, then the second course. I can only describe it as vegetarian Indian starters you can buy at Iceland. Dry chicken satay some chips and halloumi. I was waiting for the chicken wings, onion rings, pizza, mini burgers, calamari etc that I had had the previous FOUR times I have done this brunch. When we queried the menu and said it was still online with a huge selection of even more than I’d mentioned the waitress denied it existed. We then showed her she still denied it as if we’d typed it ourselves. She then asked a manager who again denied it, if you type bottomless brunch leaside on google the menu still comes up now! They then came back and said well that’s google not our website the menu changes every brunch. I then told the girl we have been coming the last couple of years it had never changed and we had had the previous menu when I listed off the top of my head how it worked she then agreed and said yes I worked here when we used to do that! So basically they were hoping we’d never been before so they could fob off that that menu on google was fake and never existed! If they had just said we have changed it our mistake we will remove it that’s fine but it was how they kept calling us liars and denying it! To put the price up and serve below standard food hoping people won’t notice because they are drunk is a disgrace. For what we paid on the table I could have gone to Iceland myself for half the price and shoved it all in the oven for 15 mins. The price is good for the drinks but we all actually used to love the food there and it’s gone down so much I’ve convinced two of my other friends who were booked for next week to cancel as I feel embarrassed I had recommended this place. They now do dessert if you can call it that. Absolute embarrassment dried churros and stale mini donuts. It’s not the brunch it once was the staff know it and to deny it and keep saying we are lying was the final straw for me. I once rated this place highly and always recommended it. The new leaside website doesn’t tell you what food you get with the bubbles so beware as next time it may just be crisps and peanuts “as it changes every week” it hadn’t changed in years and I just cannot get over the blatant lies. They should tell people on the phone not to google the menu and get excited as it’s just Iceland’s Xmas snack menu. On the plus vodka is now included. I’d rather they take that back and provide decent food like they used to!

We've been going to the Leaside for several years for dinners and drinks with groups of family or friends and had previously seen the improvements to the outdoor area. Sadly, however, inside was a disappointment. What was previously the restaurant, is now a cocktail bar with a limited selection of cocktails on the menu and the food menu is now just tapas and a few pizza options - we much preferred the previous menu. The decor is weird and tacky looking. It's supposed to be Thai inspired but it looks more like a Moroccan shisha lounge that hasn't been updated since the 80s. The tables are completely unsuitable if you want to order food. The high tables with stools are too high and the sofas are too low with only a small coffee table to put food & drinks on. It's certainly no longer a place to go for a meal with a group of family or friends any more. Oh and the tapas we ordered took almost an hour to arrive.
But that wasn't the worst bit.......
A man sitting at the bar next to our table, who was either the owner or manager, was drinking with a group of friends and made some very inappropriate & derogatory comments about the ladies who come for Bottomless Bubbles, describing them as a drunken mess, amongst other remarks. I found this to be absolutely appalling behaviour from someone in management, These "drunken messes" are spending money in your establishment which in turn creates revenue to pay your salary. And to make these comments in front of other patrons is inexcusable. The man's group of friends were progressively becoming more drunk & loud to the point where they were invading our space around our table and we couldn't hear each other speak. The man didn't say a word to his friends even though we were clearly uncomfortable. Eventually, we paid our bill and went outside to have another drink to get away from them. So much for the chilled vibe they thought they were creating with the decor.
The only saving grace for the evening which I why I gave 2 stars was the lovely waitress who looked after us.
We wont be returning and will recommend that our friends and family who have also been going to the Leaside for years to avoid it as well.

We stayed in The Coach House Suite and it was lovely! Very clean, spacious, great air con, a fridge, a separate bathroom with a double shower and to top it all a free standing spa bath! The bed was so super comfy with a big telly on the wall at foot of the bed which had netflix on an added bonus. We wanted to eat in the restaurant but it was fully booked, however they reserved us an outdoor table with a parasol and heated lamp. We ate from the tapas menu and it was very yummy and served quite quickly too. Waitresses were very attentive and polite. When we decided to go back to our room the outdoor area was very busy and loud but we couldn't hear anything when we got back to our room neither did we hear the trains that go over the bridge near by. Really impressed, great price for all we got perfect way to spend our anniversary. Thank you, we can't wait to return.

Sinead , Sam, Debbie and last but NOT least Vibha who won the day by making me Frenchtoast as we make them in Pakistan and India , not to mention Chris and finally not to forget Hucksby who outdoes us being 4 legged and an adorable puppy make this place a special, friendly , loyalty rewarding home away from home. I asked for tap water and Debbie brought me nice bottled water with a glass and brought it to me upstairs . I believe the lovely lady who took my booking on the phone the first time was Chloe but I could be totally wrong about the name was also very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this hotel situated in the High town 7 minute walk from the station. Looking forward to Vibha s French toast again tomorrow. It's not on the menu but if you ask nicely she ll oblige! They taste nicer the Pakistani way with sugar beaten into it and as Vibha is from Mumbai she knew exactly how to make them! Thanks everyone at Leaside whom I am yet to meet!

Went for the bottomless Bubbles Brunch last night at the Leaside and had an amazing time! We were asked what we would like to drink even before 8pm and our prosecco arrived in a couple of minutes. All the staff were very attentive and we had our prosecco topped up several times without having to ask. The pink gin and slimline tonics were to die for and were also served very quickly. Our food was hot and well prepared with gaps in between to let us have a break. Breads, olives and humus were very tasty. Main course of chicken satay, coleslaw and really lovely hot chunky chips! Then we had pizza and asked for a second portion that came straight away. Very tasty chocolate or lemon posset mini desserts were very tasty. We were offered a final drink just before 10pm as well. There was a DJ playing tunes in the next room where the bar was, and we enjoyed the rest of our evening having a dance. We cannot fault any aspect of our evening and it was great value for money. We will be back soon ☺️

Yes hotel has car parking. Buzz the buzzer on pillar amd hotel will open gates for you to enter their car park. Road that leads into the hotel is quite badly pot holed so be careful. Take it easy. At least car is safe in gated area. Steps from car park upto entrance of hotel.
