We stayed two nights after it was recommended by a relative and it didn't disappoint. The house is one of the best I have stayed in the UK. However, it's the little things that make the memories so special-and Sue and Richard couldn't have been better hosts. They make you feel as if you have know them for years and nothing is too much trouble. A fabulous experience -thank you it was greatly appreciated.
Thank you Sue and Richard for making our stay so relaxing and enjoyable! We booked 3 nights here on the recommendation of previous reviews and can say that they all lived up to the expectation. We booked the Monnow Suite and loved it. The attention to detail of the building as well as the fixtures and fittings made it such a lovely place to spend some time and relax before and after our excursions into the forest. The breakfast was exactly as expected, high quality with a wide selection and very filling! We really couldn't have asked for anything more from our stay! Thank you again.
Back to Stoulgrove for the 4th time last weekend. Sue & Richard as welcoming and helpful as always. We had great meals out in Chepstow on Friday and Saturday night. Our bedroom was super clean ,smart + very quiet and comfortable. Breakfast just awesome! £125 not cheap for a b & b but, believe me, this one is something special & is a real bargain. We are already saving up for the next trip!
We came here for the weekend for a wedding - it was a absolutely amazing. Sue took great care of us, and even offered to give us a lift to the venue. The breakfast was also delicious! My only wish is we could have spent a little more time at the place - we will defo come back for a more relaxing weekend. Thanks both! Matt & Pooja
Well what can I say? Let me start by saying how wonderful Sue and Richard are. This past weekend a friend and I stayed at Stoulgrove and we were just absolutely amazed. Attention to detail I think is an understatement. The house is decorated to a very high standard with the most tasteful decor, in keeping with the property. We had the privilege to hear the story of how Sue and Richard came to be there and see picture of how they brought his property back to life. They work hard to deliver an outstanding service. They are welcoming and flexible and whilst I would hope they have their limits, we truly felt nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the Monrow Suit. Very tastefully done, clean, extremely comfortable bed and the bedding all high standards and lovely and cosy. I personally loved all the window shutters as the room was so lovely and dark, perfect for a great nights sleep. Now the breakfast, OMG! We felt like we were royalty and being fed like kings. I have to say Sues home baked plums were to die for! Our only advice would be to check whats happening at the race course before you book, we happened to descend on a 'Rave' weekend and the constant base beating in the background was likely heard for miles. Id personally avoid those dates, although for my friend it wasn't so much of an issue for her. We loved this place and hope to stay again in the very near future.…
