Meet a friend for lunch, we ordered from the st two course menu. Both had pate to start, it was a very small portion, bit in fairness it was £7.95 for two courses, it wasn't the size it was like slime! 2nd course my friend had a cheese omelette, virtually inedible the cheese was a solidified lump! I had the...

Although I've lived in Chepstow for 18 months the Beaufort wasn't a favourite, until now. Called in on the off chance Saturday for a quick drink and stayed most of the afternoon. Was quite busy both in the bar and on the food side but service was quick, friendly and the overall atmosphere was just lovely, both because of the...

I've used this hotel for both business and pleasure over the past 15 years but hadn't visited for 3 years ..... the staff are really helpful and friendly, the breakfasts have a good choice and the chef is very flexible on combinations of food, the atmosphere in the bar itself was warm and friendly, my only criticism was our rooms...

Although I have lived in Chepstow for most of my life I have never eaten here before! So,4 of us tried them on a Saturday night, very busy with 2 hen parties and racing in Chepstow. Surprisingly good service helped by a simple menu. The bill came to £78 including all drinks. Very good value will come again.

My partner and i had a lovely valentine's meal here last night. From cocktails at the bar, to the incredible food plated with a well picked bottle of posecco, topped off with complimentary heart chocolates. This restaurant that thought of everything!

Going to start by saying that I am a great fan of the Beaufort hotel, ever since I bought my house at auction there 14 years ago! I often pop in for a breakfast and read the papers it's particularly good spot to watch the international rugby the landlord is very attentive looks after everybody, and there is a great...

Hi there, looks like we've gone and done it again! This is infuriating and I will get to the bottom of it. As a hotel, we should be taking pride in our breakfasts, its the last thing a resident is provided before they check out and we always want our customers to depart with happy thoughts about what we offer....

The food was absolutely delicious. I had the rack of lamb, served on braised red cabbage, it was cooked to perfection. My partner had venison which was a lovely cut of meat. When I first looked at the prices of the menu I was concerned, however when the food was presented I could see why. It was truly amazing. The...

Cold 'all day' breakfast, unwelcoming offish bar woman who seemed to be the only person in the place juggling loads of jobs. / wet slippery floors and no signs to warn you / filthy tea pots and over priced all in all. Cannot believe this place churns out such a stunning Sunday lunch ! Won't be back for breakfast for...

Dear VeryBetty, I'm disappointed to hear your most recent visit to the Beaufort was a less than successful one. Hotels pride themselves on their breakfasts and ours generally get a lot of compliments, which is why I'm shocked to read your review. Is there any way you could let us know when you visited, because it's important for us to...

The Beaufort is a typical British country town hotel - slightly gone to seed, but rather charming nevertheless. It looks as though it was last decorated in the 1970s, but it is clean and comfortable. We stayed for the weekend and had lunch in the bar, which was fine - jacket potato for me and ham and cheese omelette for...
