I was pondering for some time whether to book this hotel as there is a lot of mixed reviews, but I am really glad that I did. If I'm honest, I'm a little puzzled by some of the very negative feedback, as it seems totally different to my experience. I can only think that some parts of the hotel may...

We decided to stay at the Palace to attend a friends Wedding Reception in same hotel. A very grand and historic building and a great location for an event, with high ceilings and plenty of space for a party. Unfortunately the rooms are very tired. We had no towels (hotel was out of them) and the heating failed, so needs...

When you walk into the Palace Hotel you sense the history and place that this remarkable building held in the Buxton landscape. However it is currently faded. Britannia Hotels are doing what they can but this is a huge hotel and there is clearly not the funding to restore it to its rightful place. Service at Breakfast is welcoming -...

We stayed on a Groupon deal. £65 for dinner, bed & breakfast ( and a bottle of wine). The hotel is next to the station and a few minutes walk into town, uphill coming back, but hey, it's Buxton. The first room was huge (room to dance) and very warm, the internet access was poor and there was no way...

Didnt know what the hotel was like but when we arrived was very pleased with this hotel. If you are used to boutique hotels this proberly isnt the hotel for you, its very traditional and some areas of the hotel need updating. Our room was large and very nice good furniture and fittings. The rooms get very hot but you can...

We have stayed here about four times & each time we have had a great time & stay. The rooms aren't the smartest compared to newer places, but lt is clean & comfortable. The restaurant always provides lovely food, either the breakfast or the dinner menu, we have never had a bad meal yet. The beautiful sweeping staircase & chandelier...

We have just returned from an overnight break here and had a really enjoyable stay for a most reasonable price. The check in was efficient and hard working Rizwan was helpful and very welcoming. Our room although compact as stated, was refurbished to a high standard, very clean and warm (though only one bath towel?) The ground floor reception rooms...

The Palace Hotel – I read quite a few trip advisor reviews and based on the spread of ratings (almost even numbers for excellent and poor) we were a little concerned. So, following our stay, to give you a balanced fair assessment see the following short points. 1) Cost - From a value point of view our valentines two-night stay...
