This is grand hotel that is very close to the station and also convenient for the town centre, the breakfast did not have much variety but ok if you just want bacon and egg etc. The coffee was rather weak.

My sister and I stayed here for one night last week. We loved the location and the hotel. The bedroom was dated and the bathroom certainly was, but they were clean, with nice white sheets on the beds. The evening meal which was in with our deal was good, but the breakfast was not. We enjoyed our stay.

This hotel has excellent staff who cannot do enough for you, specifically Dominic Biggin. We held an International Conference in Buxton and many of the International guests booked rooms here.. The one issue we did have was the wifi signal strenght was very poor. Breakfast was filling, the rooms were clean and warm.

Myself and partner booked a 3 night stay at the Palace for a long weekend away. We imagined the weekend would be a luxurious spa break in the heart of the Peak District. We had an 8 hour drive down from Scotland. On check in, we were given a small, dark room where the bathroom was bigger than the bedroom....

We had been bought a voucher for this hotel of group on , and probably wouldn't have booked it ourselves after reading the trip advisor reviews , but still came with an open mind , thinking surely it couldn't be as bad as people say, after all it is a 4 star hotel and the voucher was still over £120...

We arrived at 3pm and check-in was quick although later we did see queues for checking in, our first impressions of the hotel were grand and clean. Our room was a good size with plenty of draws and a wardrobe, the furniture had seen better days but we did not go to admire the furniture. Bed linen and towels were...

Decided a have a weekend away somewhere not too far off - Buxton only being around half an hour from Stockport. A beautifully designed hotel, very clean, comfortable and very close to shops, a stroll away from the Pavillion Gardens and Opera House, this wonderful hotel is very much in the heart of the town. I needed a taxi to...

On arrival dirty reception area. The cleaner in a bleach stained tunic showed us our £130 superior room, which was not at all like a Palace ! There was no other room available so we had to take it.They also took the money up front. The room had Rusty windows, cracked floor tiles, mouldy grout in bathroom, rusty metal bath,...

We arrived at 5pm, we immediately felt disappointed by the cleanliness on arrival, everywhere felt like it needed a really good clean, only one person on reception with a massive queue of people waiting, our room was so deteriorated and in need of a lot of attention, we actually decided not to stay and checked in somewhere else for half...
