Disappointing stay after reading the previous reviews. Found the hotel dated and the bedroom in need of a revamp. Breakfast also not the award winning as described in the brochure. Evening meal ok but not fantastic. The area around the hotel very nice park, pavilion, but town not many good shops.

Been here a few times and it's brilliant. The staff are always helpful if needed anything. Definitely worth going, bare in mind the prices are not cheap but worth every penny. Not far from shopping center and train station.

We booked for two nights for a long weekend of walking, shopping and relaxing. The Old Hall was a perfect quintessential English venue for the weekend. The staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. The room comfortable and clean. The food tasty and plentiful. All in all a great little hotel!!

We stayed one night as a stop over combined with an evening at the Opera House. The room was small but comfortable and all was fine until breakfast, which could have been a scene from Faulty Towers. We were not told anything about the ordering arrangements and neither was anyone else, just told where we couldn't sit. We then waited...

Had a lovely overnight stay! Breakfast and room were lovely, and the hotel and staff were very accommodating to us and the dog! Could not recommend more highly if your looking for a dog friendly hotel in the area, walls are thick as well so no barking at slamming doors!

Booked a bed, breakfast, and evening meal room here for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Excellent customer service on the phone, and when checking in (I drove my parents to the hotel, chauffeur service!!) with staff that were both friendly and professional. The hotel itself is very well presented with a great view across 'The Slopes' & the park nearby....

A charming hotel, yes it's old, the floor boards are creaky and you tend to walk on slanted floors but what d you expect from such an old place. Our room was clean and a decent size. The bathroom was clean and modern. We stayed for two nights and ate in the hotel on the first night, in the bistro...

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary . I absolutely loved the history of the building and the unique decor just made it even better . We had afternoon tea where we were looked after so well. I cannot wait to coke back again . Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location .

The were not very friendly, the room was very comfortable but very dated, the bathroom was well equipped but the shower wasn't very powerful, breakfast wasn't particularly good quality. There was building work going on to the side / rear of the building which start quite early.

We visited the Old Hall on the 28th February and Wow is the only words I have for the meal we had in the restaurant. The food was extremely well presented and tasted divine. The whole party was bowled away by the whole dining experience, thank you.
