I have just stayed here last night . Great location for me. Check in , friendly and helpful staff. Room was large enough, comfy bed . Very fresh linen . Bedroom and bathroom spotlessly clean. Walls looked like they had just been painted , gloss work needs to be repainted . Breakfast was fabulous, hot and tasty. This hotel /motel is excellent value for overnight stays . It ticks all the boxes for what I needed. Well done to the cleaning and gardening team. ✅
I was concerned about staying here after reading other reviews but all other hotels in the area were fully booked the rooms could do with a paint and the bathrooms need updating we had a double bed and single bed in the room which was a bit cramped the room was very clean the staff were very friendly and helpful we have already booked again to stay in October we have booked 2 rooms this timeb
This is the worst hotel i have stayed in. The website does not show true reflection of the rooms. I booked this for one night stay Thank god not longer. The hotel is not a hotel its more of a motel. Rooms stink of dampness and an old pub NO vents in bathroom. Beds are squeaky, uncomfortable, and mattress springs dig into your back. God help you if you have an add on bed for a child. My daughter 7 years of age couldn't sleep on as it was hurting. I wish i had checked out straight away but i arrived late. Restaurant in the website looks nothing like it in reality half of the tables has been displaced by a pool table and looks like a youth centre or student union. Guests served alcohol till late which meant they were loud till 1am. They stand outside to talk and smoke. Smoke smell coming into the room so could not keep my window open in summer not ideal. I was counting down the hours to escape this place. I have never stayed in such awful room. Chipped/ cracked sink, toilet. Bath sheets were tiny god help those larger people. Rooms are tiny. Windows dirty. Not suitable for disabled access. We paid for breakfast which was ok again don't be fooled by the fancy buffet picture. The only positive point is the staff all the reception and breakfast staff were AMAZING and i felt sad that a company with soo many branches does not invest back into the property. Never again.…
This is a review of a one night stay. Please read this and do NOT book this whatever you do. I'll try and keep this as short as possible, mainly as a warning to people thinking of booking. This is by far the worst place I have ever stayed and me and my husband have stayed in many hotels in this country and all over the world. We had a 50th party close by and planned to stay for one night.so after searching the normal places we found the campinile for £71 which was £20 cheaper than the other. The photos looked ok and I had stayed in a campinile in Dartford.from what I remember it was perfectly fine. On arrival the car park was full of rubbish, dirty wet wipes and Macdonald's wrappers. Not a good start but hey it's the car park, we can ignore that. The venue looked like a really old fashioned Butlins style complex, however time had not aged it well and it looked like a concentration camp. Again it's the outside , so we will ignore that. Check in was fine and the lady on reception was nice and polite and welcoming. We were given our key a ground level room, number 32. The door to our room looked very old and the very dirty net curtains looked horrible from the outside but we entered. Opening the door and first thing that hit us was the smell. WOW!!! It smelt damp, musty, and apologies for people with pets but very similar to wet dog. It was awful. We had to dump our bags and run as our cab was waiting and during the party was very apprehensive about our nights stay. We returned very much later that evening and as soon as we got in the room we began a hunt for a local hotel just to get out of there. If the car park wasn't flood lit I promise you now we would have slept in the car. It was the dirtiest smelliest place I have ever stayed and that is no exaggeration. This is why!!! The welcome laminate telling us about covid and how they clean the room was stained and had a public hair on it, no word of a lie. The carpet was thread bare and almost sticky in texture. We were wearing our old socks to get to the bathroom before jumping back on the bed in hope that this would be better. The whole room was small and painted white but over what was obviously a cream colour before. Clearly not covering it and made the walls look dirty. The door frames and doors were full of chips and barely and paint with clear dirt marks all over them. The lampshade was cotton and stained. I closed the curtain which I didn't even want to touch, how can a curtain have so many burn marks and stains, it was disgusting. Our bathroom taps were dirty, We had half a used toilet roll on a broken holder. The taps were grimey and dirty clearly not been cleaned. The bathroom smelt damp and mouldy. One of the towels was stained. Next to the bed on the carpet was old sick, dirty barley wiped up sick melted into the carpet. I am not even joking. We have all the pictures. The dust was thick on the bed frame. The desk was broken and chipped and the remote for the TV was rotton. Most of all the smell was overwhelming. We slept on the sheets which actually looked fairly clean I think but we remained fully clothed and slept like vampires, well when I say slept, we had enough to wake up very early to leave. We even had to walk over to the Asda to purchase some air freshener and dettol antibacterial spray! Please avoid this place completely , it is the worst hotel you will ever stay.…
Having stayed at Campanile in Swindon and Dartford previously, I was confident that the Basildon site would be equal to my previous experiences. Whilst everything was in the room and worked as it should, the room was really in need of at least decoration and realistically a total refurb. So, whilst the stay represented excellent value, don't expect any glamour.
