I went for a meeting - there was a rude waiter in the dining room who told us to sit in the entrance hall! No one asked us if we needed to order anything, in fact we had to walk around trying to get a cup of coffee and a sandwich. The sandwich - left much to be desired. No one cleared the table for an hour while the meeting progressed, nor did staff approach us as others joined in!

Hotel's Favourite
This is a stunning lakeside location on the site of a former royal palace. The grand entrance was accompanied by a warm and helpful welcome at reception with volunteered baggage assistance to our clean modern double bedded room, simply but tastefully decorated with included tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer, iron and board. Large modern shower but no bath. Easy to manage air conditioned room with a pretty view over slightly neglected gardens and walks toward the lake. The included dinner and breakfast were both excellent and the staff were all friendly, efficient and professional. We will definitely be back to this hotel, which also has conference and large function (eg. Wedding) facilities.

I visited this hotel for a Sunday lunch in the Mulberry Room some years ago which was excellent and for a lovely afternoon tea on a separate occasion. I’ve been back today with friends and the quality of the food and staff did not disappoint. The hotel has a feel of luxury and calmness. The staff are friendly and attentive and nothing seems too much trouble. We were served today by Cosmin who was an absolute delight.

There were many requests for guests to wear face masks, but apart from two staff on reception and staff in the restaurant, not even management wore masks in the public areas - this a few days after the emergence of the omicron variant. The hotel itself was very bright, fresh and modern with impressive Christmas lights. The room and bathroom were well presented and of adequate size - the beds were much too soft for us. Service in the restaurant by the head waiter was professional and very attentive. Although the food was well presented, it was disappointing for a 4 star hotel. My piece of cod was poor quality and my wife's chicken appeared small and mean and was dry.

Lovely hotel, nice rooms and very polite and professional staff. A special mention to the barman who always went above and beyond. Set in well kept grounds and the hotel has a feeling of calm around it. Dinner experience was great and all in all made for a relaxing stay.
