Wow! Just arrived home from 5 nights at Burnville.
Unfortunately there is no option on the review to give 6 out of 5 stars!
My wife and I were meant to be in USA for our anniversary but due to current circumstances we managed to find this gem.
We were lucky, having booked only a week prior, that there was a room available for a few days stay, having read the other great reviews.
It's all about the hosts, Tori & Tim. As B&B guests, from the minute of arrival we were made to feel like a part of their wonderful home (a beautiful country house on a working farm with a picturesque vista over the farm and moors beyond).
Although not a hotel, Tori does offer evening dinner if you book on advance (depending on other guest bookings) and I would advise to do so! We were fortunate enough to have done this on 2 occasions but wish we could have done more.
The dining room is wonderful and we were made to feel like royalty. They have no alcohol licence so you have to bring your own wine (no problem there) and the food is Michelin star quality (but better portions than usual Michelin star!). On the night that this was unavailable, Tim drove us into Tavistock where we had booked a restaurant and they also organised a taxi back for us.
As for the breakfasts - speechless!!!
Fresh fruit, home made granola, compote and yoghurt followed by cooked breakfast of your choice.
Best breakfasts we have ever experienced.
We had a room in the main house which was magnificent, comfortable and spotless. There are also self-catering cottages on the farm.
The location is in the middle of nowhere which is great for the peace and tranquility but also as a superb base to venture out each day to the North Cornwall or South Devon coasts and for those of you that like it, walking or cycling over The Moors.
Tori and Tim take pride in their home and delivery of service which makes Burnville an exceptional experience throughout.

Both my husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was amazing. The room was very large and tastefully decorated with a very large bed with all Covid rules followed. The breakfasts were amazing with a good choice so you certainly never went hungry. There was even a small decanter of sherry in our room which made you feel special after a long day out.

We have just spent 3 nights at Burnville Farm. We were offered The Garden Room, which was a suite of spacious rooms attached to the main house. It meant that we had space and privacy while enjoying extremely comfortable and tasteful surroundings, with a stunning view thrown in. Each morning we popped into the main house where we enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast made by our host. We also were treated to an evening meal which was of a very high standard. We certainly hope to visit Burnville again, perhaps with friends, when times allow. Thank you for a perfect rural escape!!

We were blown away by how beautiful the house and location are. We stayed in the Garden Room as self-catering guests, which felt very luxurious with large rooms, high ceilings, very comfortable sofa, king size bed and all mod cons in the large, fully equipped country kitchen. The views from the front of the house are breathtaking. The place is set away from the road and very quiet. We had a nice, secluded outdoor area with table and chairs as well as two deckchairs which was just for us. We felt very spoiled staying here. No doubt we’ll be back.

We cannot recommend Burnsville Farm enough. Victoria and Tim are wonderful hosts who were welcoming and helpful. Victoria is an excellent cook and the breakfasts were really something special. We were lucky enough to also have dinner at Burnville (available with notice) and the food was just delicious. The rooms are beautifully maintained with all the modern luxuries plus a few personal touches (such a decanter of Sherry and homemade cookies). The location is also stunning! We will definitely be returning and cannot thank Tim and Victoria enough for a lovely relaxing visit.

We stayed at Burnville house in the main building. Everything about our stay was perfection. Our hosts could not have made us more at home and welcome. The house is elegant with lovely dining room and lounge for the guests.
Our room was very large and furnished with antiques and a very spacious bathroom with high quality products. The view was spectacular. Our hostess Tory made us feel especially welcome with fresh flowers, homemade biscuits and even a decanter of sherry each day! Breakfast menu was extensive and beautifully prepared.
We couldn’t recommend Burnville House more. We will certainly revisit in the future.

Myself and my wife Lady Bernice Dean stayed at Burnville Farm for 7 nights and everything was just perfect.
The house is stunning and in a magnificent location. We stayed for 2 nights in the Harlyn room with a four poster bed and then moved to the Waverley room for 5 nights, which is the largest room with an Emperor size bed. Both rooms were spacious and immaculate, with the best views from the Waverley.
Victoria and Tim are the best hosts and always had time to talk to us and recommend things to do locally, and help with restaurant bookings if needed. The quality and choice of breakfast was first class. As it was a really hot week while we were there, the added bonus of the swimming pool was very welcome after a day of exploring Dartmoor and surroundings. If ever you are considering a break in Devon, do not miss the opportunity of staying at Burnville farm. We will certainly be returning. Thanks Victoria and Tim for making us feel so welcome into your home.

It is very rare that we stay in any place where is faultless but that is absolutely the case with Burnville Farm. Victoria and Tim are charming hosts and we relaxed the moment we arrived. The breakfasts are of standard you would expect in a five star hotel and actually better than many. It is a joyous place to stay and we can not wait to return.

Everything in the other TA reviews were accurate descriptions of what we found and liked at Burnville House, with the following exceptions: evening meals weren't on offer due to their being short staffed following brexit/covid; offers of lifts to local eateries weren't forthcoming, fortunatelly most are within a 15 min. drive. The Cornish Arms in Tavistock is well worth a visit to sample good food in a pub setting.
The breakfasts are superb: we have stayed at a couple of 5* hotels that offered really good breakfasts with a wide choice, but Victoria's knocked them into acocked hat with a friendly personal service to boot. Beautifully arranged fresh fruit, berry compote, home made granola, yoghurt greeted you each morning with cereals on the sideboard. A choice of cooked breakfasts were available including pancakes, porridge, eggs florentine or benedict, to name but a few. All were cooked to perfection with fresh ingredients and served piping hot.

We stayed in the Garden Room for 5 nights self catering in July. Tori and Tim are great hosts. We stayed Self Catering due to COVID19 arrangements. The B&B is in a great position for Cornwall, Dartmoor and South Devon. The accommodation is very well presented and maintained, with all rooms of generous proportions. The position is beautiful with a view across to Brentor. Whilst there we visited Eden Project, Tintagel as well as Dartmoor. Definitely keen to return in the future.
