I've only camped there a couple of times with friends while we were paddling the Wye. We decided to try it because it was convenient for both getting on and off the water, and for food and we weren't disappointed. Although they only allowed 2 man tents it suited us fine, the food and atmosphere was good but on our...

Our family of four (plus dog) visited the White Lion on a Easter Saturday evening. We stepped out of a rainstorm into a really warm hospitable pub where we were treated to good local beer, and an excellent selection of food. In addition our dog was really welcomed by the locals and their lovely pets. The location of this pub...

Last Sunday a group of fourteen celebrated a lunch time family birthday meal at The White Lion. The management were extremely friendly and accommodating and the service was excellent. Everyone in the group commented on the quality of their meal. The roasts were particularly impressive and a gluten free roast, with tasty gravy and a Yorkshire pudding, was provided for...

We found this little gem on our stay in Ross and absolutely loved it . A fantastic atmosphere , lovely staff and the best steak we've ever eaten at an absolute bargain price . Exactly how a British pub should be . Fun, friendly and low key . Can't wait to visit again .

We stopped for lunch and were happily surprised at the warm welcome, attentive service and good food. We sat by the fire and were guarded by the large resident dog. The service was first class with generous portions and really attentive service. It was a very welcome break in a long journey.

Lovely pub with good selection of beer and ciders. The staff are very helpful and obliging and the food was first class. We had dinner and breakfast...both excellent. Room 7 was advertised as having a "river view" ...and it does...only over the roof of a shed below ! The room was a bit tired...but the bed was comfortable and the...

Its Ok but could be so much more. We camped mid way through a Wye canoe trip. 2 good things about the place - the location/ view and the beer. The list of negatives is slightly longer unfortunately. There was dog muck on the green - one trodden in piece just where the officiotus staff member wanted us to pitch...

Camped on the green, soon found plenty of dog muck and began to regret our decision to camp. Staff officious and unfriendly almost hostile. Food OK, facilities OK, they do cater for the 'canoe' trade. Pity really as friendly staff and absence of dog muck would have made for a much more enjoyable stay. We won't be returning anytime soon.

We enjoyed a good value bar meal. Relaxed atmosphere and the waitress was very attentive and helpful. Good selection on the menu, tasty fresh salad and good beer. Nothing to complain about here. Riverside location very attractive.
