Having not visited the area for a number of years. Had memories of having tea & cake in the courtyard area. Really has been done up nicely. Courtyard really pretty. Staff friendly & I had the most delicious cake. Waitress came out with a huge slice & I planned to save half for later. It never touched the sides as... More

Nice, bright, clean room with a Queen sized bed, spotless modern en suite bathroom, writing desk and chair, tea and coffee making facilities plus free WiFi. Also a very nice and reasonably priced restaurant serving well prepared local produce. The hotel is in the centre of Ross-on-Wye and has off-street parking. The bar is a good, friendly place for a... Hands down the best hotel me and my partner have ever visited. We stayed over as we were going to a friends wedding and did not expect the hotel to be as amazing as it is! Room was lovely and clean and the bathroom was great. Downstairs the bar was very friendly and a nice atmosphere to have a drink.... More

We visited family and stayed overnight in one of the hotels superior rooms. It's an ancient building so the flooks are creaky and quirky but our room was excellent. Large and we'll furnished with a nice bath and shower. It was very clean and the queen sized bed very comfy. Our evening meal was excellent, breakfast okay, nothing to complain... More

Fantastic find and deserves its excellent reviews. A very warm welcome, friendly staff, fantastic food and a clean and comfortable room with everything you need. Stayed three nights with the dinner, B&B deal and had the best T bone steak I can recall: as for the asparagus............wonderful. So no surprise one morning, while catching up with the news in the... More

6 of us met for lunch travelling from all over. The kings head ticked the boxes. We ate in the bar area, lovely low beams. Local wye valley beers, great food, good service, would recommend. Parking, easy access, central location, bookable restaurant, thanks for the enjoyable lunch.

Excellent food and service. They only use local produce. Staff very friendly & helpful. Would go again & thoroughly recommend. Couldn't be better placed in the centre of Ross and for seeing the whole area. The room was quite small [but it is an old building] and well appointed with a walk in shower in a modern bathroom. good car... More

We arrived on a Saturday at 12 to check in, the gentleman on arrival was pleasant enough and we were happy that we were able to have our rooms straight away which they didn't have to do. Thank you for your review of the hotel, we are pleased you liked the decor and ambience of our bar, restaurant and your bedroom. We are very sorry to hear your sleep was disturbed by a couple of inconsiderate fellow guests. We do ask guests returning late, not to linger and respect other guests right for a peaceful night.
