We stayed here for two nights over Easter and we had the four poster room. The room itself was dated but still well put together and a lovely big size with a large bay window and an additional window meaning it was bright and sunny. Breakfast was good and the staff were very polite and friendly. It's not often I...

We arrived on easter Monday for a two day stay, but unfortunately had to return on Tuesday morning as a friend was ill and wanted us there with her. A great little guest house and we had room number 1 which was lovely. A warm and friendly greeting at check in and we were shown to our nearby room --...

Room was clean and lovely, and the shower was excellent - hot, clean, and with shampoo etc provided. I didn't have time for breakfast but it looked good as I passed through! Very convenient for town - I will stay again next time I'm working in the area.

A serious B+B, clearly run with the benefit of experience. This is not a house with a couple of rooms added on to raise a bit of cash from B+B. Pleasant bar and lounge; light and airy dining room; not cramped. The double bed was very comfortable; the bathroom adequate and clean. The water in the morning (07.30) was lukewarm...

We booked Charnwood Lodge because of its accessible rooms and friendly welcome. You can tell when people care about their guests and love the work they do. That was evident here. Special dietary needs and preferences were catered for. They bought almond milk because one of us has a dairy intolerance and offered gluten free, vegetarian and vegan as well...

We stayed with a group of friends so had a few rooms. Ours had a huge double bed and a single bed which were very comfy. We also requested a cot and we're pleased to find they had a very high quality travel cot which our 11 month old was very happy with. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean....

We booked relatively last minute for a one night stay at the Charnwood Lodge. We chose the property based on location but primarily the very good ratings from Trip Advisor and also the 4 star ratings from a number of nationally recognised review / accreditation bodies. The initial impression of the hotel was very good and we were warmly welcomed...

Recently stayed here a couple of times while I'm on a short term contract for work. Great place to stay, family run business where everyone goes out of their way to ensure you have a good stay. Walking distance of town is a bonus too. The rooms you get for the price are excellent value for money, good size, well...
