Friendly and professional hotel that caters to all. During the week we have a regular business trade that takes advantage of all the mod cons, including full wi-fi coverage, in stylish and relaxing surroundings. We are excellently located for all local companies and just over an hours journey to Glasgow and Edinburgh. Weekends are busy with local food trade and also with small functions and weddings.

We had a great stay at Somerton House to break up the journey from Yorkshire to Fife. The room and public areas of the hotel are absolutely spotless. We had a large room (which was an accessible room) on the ground floor which was more than large enough for us and our two dogs. The room was really warm, due to the time of year, and in hindsight we should have asked for a fan. Some veggie options on the breakfast menu would have been appreciated (veggie sausages, bacon etc.) but we could still be accommodated for. The location is great - close to the A74M and a short walk into Lockerbie town centre which is well worth a visit.

A lovely quaintly feel, old fashioned and welcoming place. I would recommend a visit with friends or your other half. Spacious rooms and friendly staff that are more than happy to make your stay a pleasure. Only problem is the bathroom is dated and in need of replacing but served it’s purpose.

I visited this hotel for dinner with a few friends. It was generally very good. Quite a broad menu. Tasty and well presented food. £30 per person with a drink for two courses. My opinion is that it was worth it and I would go back again. Very nice.

Lovely throwback hotel in need of some maintenance. We had a good size superior room that was clean and well kept, the staff were very friendly and helpful, dinner was good in both portion size and quality. Breakfast was great (esp the haggis!). But the hotel needs a serious going over by a maintenance team! Our shower didn’t work properly and was falling off the bracket, bit of mould in the enclosure, mattress was saggy and old, door lock was loose ….. that kind of stuff. I would stay again as it’s a decent stop off point between midlands and highlands, but could be a lot better with some tlc.
