We took my parents on a whirlwind adventure of Northern Scotland and enjoyed our two nights here. This home is immaculate and everything feels brand new. Breakfast was great and so were the home bakes kept on the side board for snacking. A couple of minor observations....The room was comfortable with the windows open, but we found most of the...

Thank you for your review and glad you all enjoyed your stay. To address the points made, I am not sure what cutsie doodads are? We do not have ornaments or knik-naks in the rooms so I'm a little confused? We do have a selection of toiletry items and magnifying mirror, extra lamp, etc as we have many guests who...

My husband and I spent two tranquil, lovely nights at Straigona bed and breakfast near Kirkwall in Orkney. I can't recommend this b&b highly enough. Julie is a wonderful hostess and so knowledgeable about Orkney and the wildlife. Our room was a perfect size with a huge ensuite and we had everything we could possibly need. Breakfast was delicious and...

It was the best B&B service I've ever had. The rooms clean and you can find everything you need, hair dryer, shower lotion, shower caps, electronic adapter pieces, television, extra linen... Julie and Mike are very, very, very friendly. They make everything possible, even a gluten free and vegetarian breakfast. Thanks for that!! They have very good suggestions for the...

WOW! Loved your subject line! It was a real pleasure to meet you all and so glad you enjoyed the 'extras'. As you advised me in advance of dietary requirements it was no problem to make sure we had a few special things for you and I'm so glad you liked them. BRgds Julie

Having used Tripadvisor to select Straigona, I have to say the reality lived up to all the excellent reviews. Our room was at the front, with a superb view, and Julie and Mike could not do enough to make our stay a great one. The room was stocked with a swathe of toiletries, and the breakfasts were delicious. As an...

We stayed here for three nights while visiting Orkney mainland and the Island of Hoy. The Inganess room is spacious with a lovely view. The little extra touches promote the wonderful things made on the Orkneys- such as Orkney soap, Orkney fudge as a welcome gift. Loved the cheery, homey touches, as well as all the lovely pictures of the...

Straigona is a great B and B in a brilliant location. It is really close to the airport and perfectly placed to drive everywhere on the main island. Julie and Mike are very lovely hosts with lots of information about the island and helpful tips. The meals we had were lovely and as a vegetarian I was catered for very...

We stayed for 2 nights and were made very welcome by Julie and Mike. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable although not large. The views were amazing especially the sunsets over the bay. We stayed in the Inganess room overlooking the bay. It was well worth paying a little extra for the view. A comfortable room immaculately kept and Julie and Mike provide lots of thoughtful extras for guests. We particularly appreciated the OS maps and fresh water in the room. The food was excellent and the dining room very pleasant.
