Went for family meal and the staff were outstanding, especially when youngest granddaughter knocked a full glass of juice across table, they even gave her a fresh one. Good selection of drinks, especially craft beers, at reasonable prices. Food certainly above pub grub standard with everything fresh and well cooked with very generous portions. Haddock was particularly good although too much, luckily my son in law was hungry so my plate was nearly empty. Although not on menu I had beautiful onion rings with dip. Had to get doggy bag for chicken as portion was huge. Will definitely go back.

We booked in for a meal tonight, and I am so glad we did.
We were greeted by 2x extremely polite waitresses on entry, one of whom commented on the nice smell (my aftershave), and also on how nice it was to see people making the effort to dress smartly, and how lovely my wife's dress was (which she made herself so this pleased her no end.
Covid precautions were spot on, we were invited to hand sanitise, then take a menu (disposable photocopy) from a large bundle of fresh copies.
Starter of deep fried olives & garlic mayo was amazing, I have never heard of this dish before, but will definitely have these again.
My wife's fish and chips was beautifully cooked, with mushy peas with mint, and a portion of tartare sauce.
I opted for the Chicken Katsu Curry with fried rice, absolutely delicious, hardly any chilli in, but the flavours were very wholesome.
We shared a cheeseboard to finish with, and as with the starter and mains, could not be faulted.
Waiting staff were very friendly, and made us feel most welcome.
We will definitely be back.

We stayed at the Kirklands hotel during the weekend of 14 August and had a fantastic stay - everything was great. The accommodation was really comfortable and cleaned to the highest standards - we loved the fact that it had such a small boutique feel. The breakfasts and evening meals were outstanding with a great bar and added bonus of a spacious outdoor garden. However, one of the best part of the holiday was the attitude of the staff and owners who were so helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant. Thank you all very much.

The owner-operators make the Kirklands what it is: a gem of a boutique hotel woven into the fabric of its pleasant town location. This youngish couple are personable, attentive, efficient, and totally committed to providing a quality experience. This extends to their careful choice of staff, all of whom were excellent. The building is old and limited in size but the atmospheric bar and breakfast room in the front and spacious dining room at the rear make the hotel a good dining choice, an opinion evidently by the many locals. We had several quality dinners there. The wine and beer selection is first rate. Our twin room was adequate but with a slope to the floor so pronounced as to make the wardrobe appear to be in danger of falling on us. An older building such as this is bound to have a few such quirks. Fortunately the bathroom and furnishings were solid. There is enough parking here even in this in-town location. All this make the Kirklands worth considering as a base from which to explore Fife, which we did. Kinross has something to offer, too. A block or two from the hotel begins a foot/bike path that circumnavigates Loch Leven.

Privately owned with just 8 bedrooms, it seemed the perfect choice and I was not disappointed. Even the 'wee double' (Room 3) was excellent for one person with a good bathroom and efficient shower. Overlooking front but not noisy. Good breakfast with a wide choice, all prepared to order. Excellent coffee! Very good dinner with 5 family members. Would stay again.

I stayed at the hotel with my dad, uncle and auntie whilst on a trip down memory lane! The hotel is in a perfect location for exploring Kinross and Loch Leven. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, you feel at home immediately.

I stayed in room 3, the ‘wee double’ was perfect for me, good comfy double bed and bathroom with shower. I worried I would be cold but I wasn’t, there is a small heater provided if the temp outside drops.

My dad stayed in room 7 which is large family room with a double and single bed. Both rooms were lovely and clean.

We ate breakfast every morning in the hotel. There is a really good selection of hot and cold items and the staff will do anything to accommodate what you need, nothing seems too much trouble.

We had a meal in the restaurant which was absolutely delicious and really reasonably priced. We can recommend the mussels, chilli cod and smashed burger. The service again was wonderful. Very attentive staff that don’t get in the way.

In the bar we also had light bites, the haggis bon bons are perfect for your first time trying haggis. Everything we ate had great flavour, was perfectly portioned and was piping hot.

Something that really impressed my dad was the first night he’d requested a rum that wasn’t available….the next day a bottle was there and the waitress remembered he’d asked the day before and let him know it was now in. A little thing that made his day!

There are parking spots outside the hotel which are really handy but if they’re busy there is plenty of parking nearby.

I really cannot fault anything about the hotel and look forward to returning. Thanks for having us x

We stayed for four nights in August, the family run hotel is a credit to its owners and we really enjoyed our stay. Kinross is a great base to explore Fife and also not too far from the Trossachs and Perth.

The restaurant has a good variety of dishes to suit plenty of different tastes.

I can personally recommend the West Coast Cooler cocktail in the bar, although there are plenty of others for you to work your way through alongside an extensive whisky, gin and rum menu

Breakfasts are superb especially the omlettes.

The staff were all helpful and work hard to make your stay enjoyable, even the weather was excellent.

We wish you every success and thanks for looking after us.

Had a lovely one night stay here rather than drive home in the evening after a Ceilidh. Staff were great and the food was first class. Best breakfast we have ever had anywhere. To have drinks served in crystal glasses is a special touch. Well worth a visit. Only downside was the stairs, no disabled room downstairs but we took our time climbing them. Thank you.

Was so good we went twice in one week , both meals were excellent. On the first occasion we had a main which included the Salmon and prawn skewers with rice and a side of Parmesan and lemon fries and I had the breast of chicken burger with extra cheese , onion rings a side of smoked paprika fries and a side of Rattlesnake bites which were delicious. On our second visit we opted for 3 courses and I had to have the rattle snake bites for my starter followed by the jerk chicken skewers with rice and a side of fries. It was lovely, then for dessert we had the apple crumble sundae... safe to say I was stuffed. The food was great , the staff were great , looking forward to going again soon
