This is a very quaint B and B that is in need of some upgrading. However, the hosts are very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was good and the location is perfect. There is a private parking area on site. The full length of the en-suite has a coombed ceiling so it can be a bit restrictive. The accommodation met our basic needs.
Lovely accommodation, big room, great location, lovely area with plenty of eating places and pubs, handy for the NC500 , great owners, would highly recommend, only downside had to share table for breakfast,. Above all brilliant dog 🐕🐶😀
We had a lovely 4 night stay here. This was actually one of the more reasonably priced guest houses in the area, available at relatively short notice (a few weeks in advance) whereas everywhere else was either very expensive or booked up. We were able to park off the road on their driveway which was nice. The room was clean and tidy and suited our needs perfectly - a kettle and things to make tea/coffee were provided in the room. A short walk from local shops, and if you’re prepared to walk a bit further, you can eat fish and chips by the river :)
We had a great week's stay here. The rooms are large and comfortable and the hosts are friendly and helpful. Isabel even gave us some chanterelles and use of the kitchen to cook them for breakfast when she discovered that we liked wild mushrooms.
Isabel and Gerald have been honing their excellent hosting skills for 29 years and it certainly shows! The house is clean, adorable and excellently situated for either a stroll down to Grant Park, or up to Grantown Museum, or for a nice walk in the Anagach Woods. Breakfast is yummy and my room was upstairs with a lovely bow window looking out over the lawn to the street beyond. I had a 6 night stay and would have been happy being there a lot longer.
We had a one night visit (to attend a funeral) and Isabel and Gerald were great hosts. They were extremely helpful to us and made our trip easier. Also great accommodation and lovely cooled breakfast. Hope to visit again.
Stayed for a single night when attending a sports event out of town. Friendly hosts, clean room, good price and great breakfast. Couldn't ask for more. Will be going back for sure despite some serious competition from others close by.
Stayed for only one night but it was a very good recommendation from another B&B who could not find a room for us because they were fully booked. Lovely and clean rooms, very good, tasty breakfast and lovely, friendly and helpful owners. We even got a guided tour of the local estate!!!
We're just back from a delightful three-night winter stay here. Despite freezing weather, we were always cosy - the wood burning stoves are superb (as is the oil c.h.) Breakfasts are delicious - fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, wonderful granary toast and scrumptious cooked platters. The property has ample off-street parking and is quiet although central. Hosts Mr and Mrs Calder are friendly and helpful with a wealth of local knowledge. We know the town and environs well yet learned lots more. Our bedroom was well appointed and the hospitality tray, replenished daily, outstanding with its tea bag selection and quality biscuits. We will be back - thank you!
The quarters were lovely. Our host, Isabel fantastic. We spent two nights and found the local people fantastic and great point to hit distilleries and Loch Ness. Breakfast was delightful and whatever you want.
