#7 of 8 hotels in Grantown-on-Spey
Old world charm at the newly restored The Craiglynne Hotel. Our Victorian granite hotel, situated under the majestic Cairngorms, has just been restored and refurbished to the highest standards. With 82 stylish rooms and superb grounds, relaxing here during your stay is irresistible; however we also highly recommend visiting the beautiful villages, mountains, rivers and forests nearby. After a day exploring, there's nothing better than sinking into an armchair by one of our roaring log fires to share stories of Lochness, Inverness and the hugely popular whisky trail. When you are looking for hotels in Grantown-on-Spey, near Aviemore, stay with us and be one of the first to enjoy our restored hotel.

Visiting the Craiglynne hotel this hogmanay I was incredibly impressed with the wonderful welcome we received. Each and every member of staff we met and in whatever capacity we were greeted with helpful and happy responses. Each meal was presented well and tasted beautiful. The 5 course celebration meal on New Years eve was absolutely perfect as was the Gala buffet the next day. The small touches of mince pies, mulled wine, visit from Santa and Christmas stockings were over and above what we expected. The hotel has plenty of countryside and is on the main street where there are plenty of little shops and a small supermarket.

Thank you to the craiglynn hotel I brought 37 passengers here for Hogmanay 4 days trip . Arrived here on 30th December 2021 from the moment we pulled up the hotel staff we’re absolute brilliant looking after each and every passenger , this continued non stop through your stay . The meals were of high standard throughout all the staf here worked endlessly to really spoil all people there . Not one of my passengers had a bad word or complaint about this hotel and staff . I really hope I get this hotel on some more tours in the coming 2022 season . I highly recommend this hotel , perfect location to tour the beautiful villages towns and city’s and not to mention the whiskey trail all close by . Thank you Craiglynn hotel hope to see you all asap this year . Darren

I had originally arranged this trip for myself and a local group of birdwatchers, to take place in May 2020, but Covid stepped in, and put everyone's plans on hold, as it did for October 2020, then May 2021! During that time, communication from the hotel was very good. We eventually managed to get this long-awaited break in October 2021, and it was worth the wait. The hotel itself is clean, the rooms comfortable, nicely decorated, and furnished with all you really need for such a stay. Car parking is available at the front of the hotel, with a few additional spaces to the rear of the hotel. Breakfasts and dinners were excellent, with dinner service being a very well-oiled machine. Furthermore, the dining and kitchen staff went above and beyond what would reasonably be expected, in order to accommodate our group on the Tuesday and Thursday evenings. They were truly fantastic! All in all, a most enjoyable stay, and tremendous value for money, with a great team providing an exceptional service. I, and the group, would have no hesitation in returning.

We've just returned from a great 3 night stay here. It has a lovely bright entrance porch and very spacious lounge area. The bar is very comfortable and the dining areas is well spaced out and modern. The staff were all pleasant, polite and friendly. Our room was spacious with a king sized bed and modern shower. The food was excellent with very good choices. We ate seared wood pigeon, trio of fish and beetroot and goats cheese as starters. For mains we had venison haunch, game casserole, hunters chicken balloutine and pan fried snapper, all were very well presented and of high quality. There is a lovely walk across from the hotel down to the river Spey. We found it to be excellent value for money, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and we can't wait to go back.
