We are late writing this review and with all the previous glowing reports it may not be necessary. Haus Alba is the definition of a great B and B. Beate was welcoming and really helped us finding places to eat. David was fun to talk to and gave us great advice, especially for our departure day. We would never have found the lookoff point in the park by the quarry without his help. He also convinced us to visit Fort George and that was very worthwhile. Grantham on Spey is an ideal location for exploring the park and going to Culloden and area.

Just the perfect B&B which I could highly recommend to everyone! David & Bea are the best hosts, who immediately make you feel welcome and assist you with any inquiries that you may have. The rooms are splended and they even have a small bottle of Whiskey ready for you when you arrive to just relax and begin to enjoy your stay. David knows the region by heart and can give you great advice on what to visit, where to eat and also organizes whiskey tours (at home or on an ideal location) and guided mountain trails or MTB rides for those interested. Bea prepares the most amazing breakfast (incl. homemade jams which are to die for) tailored to your preference. They genuinely care about their guests and even asked us to text them when we safely returned from our hike in Cairngorms National Park to make sure that we were alright. Whether you are a couple, or a group of bachelors or a family, I'm convinced that everyone will enjoy their stay at House Alba, as David & Bea will do their utmost best to turn your trip into an unforgettable memory. I'm already looking forward to visiting them again!

A great cozy B&B with very warm hosts. Spent a few days there with David and his family and it felt like home away from home. Did the Single Malt Trail and whiskey tasting sessions with David who has immense knowledge about whiskey and the history of the region. It was one of the best and most memorable experiences ever. The B&B is beautiful and they serve you an elaborate breakfast full of local and fresh produce. Beate's delicious homemade jams made it even better. Highly recommend a stay at Haus Alba and doing the Whiskey Tour with David if you really want to appreciate and enjoy the whiskey. Great for trekking and hiking tours as well. It's the best way to explore and enjoy Scotland.

I have been here qute a few times now and every time, the standards are consistently high: a huge welcome from the charming hosts and some great chat and banter, a spotlessly clean room with a comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, free dram, tea/coffee tray with biscuits, and a most excellent breakfast. On each visit, I make sure that I get to have at least one day out in the hills with David. He is an amazing and knowledgeable mountain guide who knows the surrounding area like the back of his hand, and I learn something new every time. So if you stay here, please make sure you arrange a walk with David. He will tailor it to your ability, whether it's a stroll in the local woods or an ascent of Ben MacDui. He also does whisky tastings and luxury whisky tours.

I highly recommend this cosy place to stay. The hosts are very welcoming and generous with their hospitality, knowledge and time. Our room was large and had everything we needed and more; a very comfortable, large bed, well provisioned bathroom with bath and shower, and a welcome tray including a very special whisky dram. Our breakfast was delicious, beautifully cooked and also a lovely selection of yoghurts, skyr and fresh berries and fruit. We will return for sure!

David gave us a truly local experience for the whole day. We went to many distilleries with him driving, so we could do our thing, drink whiskey We tasted great whiskys in distilleries we didn't even know about. I recommend david for any group/couple who want to experience the speyside from a local perspective.

Haus alba is hands down the best place we have stayed in Scotland. David and Beate make you feel like family from the second you step foot in the door till the time you leave. Great food, beautiful rooms and great service. Excellent tours, whisky tastings and guided hikes upon request when booking your stay, and they are definitely worth taking. We will 100% be back again.

This was our second time coming back to Haus Alba and I must say it was absolutely incredible!! David and Beate are incredible hosts, so warm and welcoming. The Whisky tasting /tours we did were so informative and fun, I could not recommend it enough!! We got to go for one of the most beautiful hikes in Cairngorm mountains and David was absolutely an exceptional guide, definitely learned so much not only about the local area and walk but also about flora and fauna. Our stay at Haus Alba was just epic, we not only loved our stay but we also got to make amazing friends! Thank you so so much for everything guys!!! We are already looking forward going back! Liana and Travis

David and Beate are the warmest and hearty hosts I have ever met. It felt like we had known each other for years, so we sat together over whiskey and gin and told each other stories until late in the evening and then fell blissfully into the cosy bed. We felt really comfortable, as if we were coming to our second home. The next morning we had a rich, lovely breakfast that strengthened us perfectly. Thank you once again for the wonderful time and the many tips for our trip. David knows the Highlands like the back of his hand!
