Visited Grange-over-sands over the weekend for my boyfriend's birthday and was lucky to find Clare house. Bruno was amazing, funny and informative. We had a bottle of red wine, avocado, mango, papaya n pineapple salad with tender ham hock as starters and the ribeye of beef and the roast guinea fowl as mains. The food was to die for and just for...

We arrived in pouring rain. Our taxi door was opened by a gentleman with an umbrella to escort me into the hotel. This is a perfect example of the standard of service offered. The staff were so friendly and helpful. My husband is both gluten-free and lactose-free but they went out of their way to provide food that he could...

I stayed here for 3 nights with my parents. The hotel is really lovely. It is located at the far end of Grange & has a path from the garden which takes you directly onto the prom which makes for a lovely walk on the flat. The hotel is family run, the staff are all fabulous and incredibly friendly &...

My son and I recently visited Clare House for Sunday lunch. The hotel had generously donated this as a Raffle Prize at a local fund-raising fair, and I was lucky enough to win. We received a lovely, friendly welcome. We sat in the beautiful lounge and admired the stunning sea view. There was a great selection of local ales and...

Home from home. Old English elegance, open fires, sea views, lovely gardens, wonderful atmosphere and a place to escape from the stresses of everyday life; you feel like you just want to stay there and never leave - it is like living in a large period country house. Welcoming and warm where the owners and team make every effort to...

My parents have being staying at this lovely family run hotel for more years than they can care to remember so it was the obvious choice to hold Dads 90th birthday luncheon party there. As always the staff are helpful and friendly and the service is good. The food was lovely and they catered for numerous food intolerance's from the...

There are not enough words to say how wonderful Clare House is. Everything about it is excellent. Our room (14) was overlooking the gardens with a wonderful view. The room itself was warm, comfy and bedlinen excellent. The bathroom was very spacious with a bath and a lovely shower. The tea and coffee tray is well stocked but the highlight...

Stayed for one night as eating at a restaurant in Cartmel. Warm welcome and offered tea and biscuits which is always a nice touch. Our room was small but nicely furnished with a small balcony looking over the wonderful gardens and out to sea. We did find the sound proofing poor and could hear noise from neighbouring rooms which disturbed...
