Booked this hotel last minute on Expedia and it's great value. Booked the basic single room with breakfast for below £40. Upgraded free to a sea view double room that's an older room but clean and tidy. Arrived quite late so eaten in the bar which was good food and 2 courses for £20 including a pint. Would I stop...

This was the fourth time we have stayed at the Cumbria Grand and as before, the hotel, staff, food and room was great. This visit however was spoiled by a group of rude and uncouth guests who because they were on a budget Christmas break, seemed to think they had the right to hijack the bar lounge area to the...

We stayed overnight at the Cumbria Grand whilst visiting family in Cartmel. Hayley n Reception was very polite. Our twin room was spotlessly clean and the shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. We could not fault it at all, apart from the buffet breakfast. We arrived at 8.45 am. The restaurant was huge and beautifully decorated. There was...

We enjoyed our stay in Cumbria Grand. Rooms were comfortable clean & the views were amazing from the balcony. The evening meal ( Carvery ) was however very disappointing. The roast beef was tough fatty & difficult to eat :-( potatoes were hard, even the waitress found it a source of fun watching me attempt to cut into the main...

My family and I went to this hotel for a meal one evening whilst on holiday in Grange over Sands. We had a small dog with us which meant we needed to sit in the lounge area to eat. The staff were so lovely and attentive and went out of their way to look after us and the Spanish tortillas...

The reception staff was very friendly. we had a little dog with us and it seemed that we were given a lower grade room although it was comfortable .The dinning area was gorgeous we had booked for dinner at 7 pm but when we arrived at our table they said that there would be a 40 min wait or eat...

Grange is very easy to reach by train, and the hotel is just a short and very attractive walk from the station, along Promenade and up into the trees. Its public areas are warm, welcoming and tasteful, with plenty of comfy chairs and sofas. The décor is baronial and does justice to the hotel's splendid proportions and honourable heritage. At...

It is indeed a grand hotel: beautiful and large public rooms especially the diningroom. Very creaking floor boards, not just in the corridor but also in the room above us. House keeping could be better. The basin in our first room was blocked. The second room which was much better had no liquid soap in the gadget at the bath...

What an amazing time we had! We went as a family of 5 to celebrate my husbands 40th. After booking I rang to make arrangements for table decorations and balloons, which was no trouble to the brilliant reception manager Rachael Bird. She was so helpful, and even managed to find a way for the 5 of us to stay together...

Thank you for leaving such a great review but above all really pleased that the special weekend away was thoroughly enjoyed. All the team here including Rachael and Niall (a fairly recent addition to the reception team.....but a great asset!) read the reviews and were delighted with your feedback. Hope to welcome you back soon.

I stayed in a single room for £36 a night B&B. I will start with the positives. The entrance hall is lovely and the christmas decorations were beautiful. There was a real fire in the lounge and the receptionist was friendly and patient. If you are just looking for a basic good value for money stay then this hotel is...

Thank you for taking the time to post and I am currently investigating your comments on the dining experience. Our chefs do not leave until around an hour after service finishes...as you will imagine with the size of our operation it takes until about 9.30pm to clean down and ensure all is ready for the next day, so I am very...
