January break away is what we were looking for. A chance to unwind. This hotel ticks all the boxes. Impossible to find fault. We took advantage of the pre bookable car park. Well worth it. Fowey was not busy and hence the time of year some shops and restaurants closed. Book in advance is advised. We eat in the hotel a couple of evenings. No complaints. Great choice of breakfast. Staff are so welcoming throughout the hotel.
We’ve previously stayed at the Salcombe Harbour hotel so thought we’d try another in the same ownership. Same exceptional standards throughout. Location not to be beaten despite less than ideal weather. The room had sea views across to Polruan and was really lovely. Huge and very comfy bed. Pre dinner cocktails in the bar followed by an a amazing 3 course meal. Very good value given the exceptionally high standard of service and food. All the staff were fabulous. Very helpful email from the receptionist Molly re hotel parking (recommend to book a space) and was able to accommodate our requests. Thank you. Highly recommended and already have agreed we will stay again.
Having chosen the Fowey Harbour hotel for a last minute break before Christmas, Mr & Mrs Smith couldn’t have made a better choice. The hotel is in an excellent location, offering stunning views over the Fowey estuary towards Polruan. We opted for the Deluxe Sea View double room which was a good size, en-suite room, with an extremely comfortable king sized bed and a cosy little couch to relax & enjoy the amazing view. Mrs Smith was particularly impressed with the well stocked mini bar and loved the complimentary gin & Sherry decanters. We also took advantage of room service which was available for a very modest fee. The only slight drawback was that the room didn’t have a table to enable us to sit on the couch & enjoy the view over breakfast. Nevertheless, breakfast was beautifully cooked & for those of you who have read our previous posts will remember Mrs Smith is a veggie, who was very well catered for with the bacon & sausage replaced by grilled halloumi & avocado. ( Mrs Smith doesn’t really like meat substitute & mentioned this on the breakfast order card and was very impressed with what the hotel provided) The staff were very welcoming & helpful and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. There is even a supply of brollies & wellies for guest to use should the weather be inclement.…
Very mixed feelings about our stay. The room itself was lovely, with a beautiful outlook. Food was excellent and serving staff attentive and efficient. The visit was marred however by failings on the housekeeping side. No dressing gowns were present when we arrived in our room. We asked for our bed not to be "dressed" with cushions on the second night, having stored them neatly away in the wardrobe, only to find them back on the bed the next morning. Perhaps most dissappointing of all was that, on two separate occasions, housekeeping/maintenance staff entered our occupied room using their keys and without first knocking.
Lovely hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was to a high standard. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was very comfortable with complimentary gin and Sherry in the room. Lovely views from our room. Short walk into town. Only criticism is that seating in the bar area is for two large groups rather than a few smaller groups. Would definitely return
