Travellers' Choice
Nestled into the west bank of the River Fowey, with picture-perfect views over Fowey’s estuary, this 37-room boutique hotel offers a quintessential seaside getaway. A full renovation in 2019 has added vibrant and colourful contemporary interiors throughout, inspired by Fowey’s rich history of exotic world travel. Most common rooms and bedrooms have estuary and harbour views. The newly restored hotel features a stunning wrap-around terrace, and two tiered gardens, an upper garden next to the hotel and a lower garden situated down some steps right at the water’s edge.

January break away is what we were looking for. A chance to unwind. This hotel ticks all the boxes. Impossible to find fault. We took advantage of the pre bookable car park. Well worth it. Fowey was not busy and hence the time of year some shops and restaurants closed. Book in advance is advised. We eat in the hotel a couple of evenings. No complaints. Great choice of breakfast. Staff are so welcoming throughout the hotel.

Dear jjssnndd, Thank you very much for the 5/5 review and the kind comments. I was pleased to see you had a lovely break and were able to make the most of out-of-season Fowey. It was good to see that the team looked after you so well, something that is key to our philosophy so it is brilliant to see it is being seen to be delivered! Thank you again and do come back and stay again soon. Kind regards, Andrew Jenkins, General Manager

Hotel's Favourite
We’ve previously stayed at the Salcombe Harbour hotel so thought we’d try another in the same ownership. Same exceptional standards throughout. Location not to be beaten despite less than ideal weather. The room had sea views across to Polruan and was really lovely. Huge and very comfy bed. Pre dinner cocktails in the bar followed by an a amazing 3 course meal. Very good value given the exceptionally high standard of service and food. All the staff were fabulous. Very helpful email from the receptionist Molly re hotel parking (recommend to book a space) and was able to accommodate our requests. Thank you. Highly recommended and already have agreed we will stay again.

Having chosen the Fowey Harbour hotel for a last minute break before Christmas, Mr & Mrs Smith couldn’t have made a better choice. The hotel is in an excellent location, offering stunning views over the Fowey estuary towards Polruan. We opted for the Deluxe Sea View double room which was a good size, en-suite room, with an extremely comfortable king sized bed and a cosy little couch to relax & enjoy the amazing view. Mrs Smith was particularly impressed with the well stocked mini bar and loved the complimentary gin & Sherry decanters. We also took advantage of room service which was available for a very modest fee. The only slight drawback was that the room didn’t have a table to enable us to sit on the couch & enjoy the view over breakfast. Nevertheless, breakfast was beautifully cooked & for those of you who have read our previous posts will remember Mrs Smith is a veggie, who was very well catered for with the bacon & sausage replaced by grilled halloumi & avocado. ( Mrs Smith doesn’t really like meat substitute & mentioned this on the breakfast order card and was very impressed with what the hotel provided) The staff were very welcoming & helpful and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. There is even a supply of brollies & wellies for guest to use should the weather be inclement.

Dear Mr_Mrs_Smith_11, Thank you so much for your very kind and helpful review. I was really pleased to see you had such a good stay with us and enjoyed all the little points of difference. Much like Mrs Smith I would much rather have something different than veggie sausages and the halloumi and avocado make for a much more interesting breakfast - I'm glad she enjoyed it! It was also excellent to see the staff looked after you so well - something we have as our top priority so it is good to see this happening. Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you back in the New Year. Our best wishes for Christmas. Andrew Jenkins, General Manager

Very mixed feelings about our stay. The room itself was lovely, with a beautiful outlook. Food was excellent and serving staff attentive and efficient. The visit was marred however by failings on the housekeeping side. No dressing gowns were present when we arrived in our room. We asked for our bed not to be "dressed" with cushions on the second night, having stored them neatly away in the wardrobe, only to find them back on the bed the next morning. Perhaps most dissappointing of all was that, on two separate occasions, housekeeping/maintenance staff entered our occupied room using their keys and without first knocking.

Dear brianh47, Thank you for your review here and I do appreciate the mixed stay you had. I have addressed the issues you raised with housekeeping and maintenance with the teams so this should be put to bed but I will be monitoring what the teams are doing while I am out and about on the floor. Thank you to, for the positive comments on your stay, it was good to see you enjoyed the lovely room and food and that the team looked after you well. Do come back and see us again when you can. Kind regards, Andrew Jenkins, General Manager

Lovely hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was to a high standard. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was very comfortable with complimentary gin and Sherry in the room. Lovely views from our room. Short walk into town. Only criticism is that seating in the bar area is for two large groups rather than a few smaller groups. Would definitely return

Dear fairandtruthful55, Thank you so much for your 5 bubble review, I was very pleased to see you had a good stay with us, particularly from the way the team looked after you. We do like our new rooms too and those little extras do make a difference. We certainly agree with you on having more bar table space and are looking at both short and long term solutions to this, watch this space! Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Kind regards, Andrew Jenkins, General Manager
