Had a wonderful 3 nights at this old inn with beautiful views from our comfortable bedroom, dining room and lounge. Staff are pleasant and helpful and they work really hard to make your stay a good one. The food is particularly good if you like fine food, Be warned if you have problems with stairs as there are many of...

Had a lovely meal one evening, it was that good we went back next night for another meal. Just as good. Pete behind the bar was, cheerful, polite and quiet funny at times. Very reasonably priced too. We payed about £100 for 2 starters, 4 mains and drinks. Definitely worth a visit

We would highly recommend this hotel, lovely views with excellent food prepared by a chef (not a microwave) with fantastic local produce. Friendly quaint bar with cosy relaxed atmosphere, delicious Cream Teas and friendly service. The restaurant has a classy feel about it complete with a lovely sun terrace with an amazing view over Fowey, as did our bedroom. Would...

Once again we had a great stay here. 2 nights with a £40 dinner voucher, cream tea for two and breakfasts. Super value. Lovely location, nice room with a great view, plentiful tea and coffee and we even bumped into Dawn French in town, literally! Thank you for another perfect visit. Congratulate your staff too, so helpful and welcoming.

We had a fantastic 3 day break at this magical inn and cannot speak highly enough of the whole experience. A warm welcome, superb food which was faultless, stunning views over the Fowey estuary and a comfortable room. The staff were great and we had help straight away with our luggage up the stairs to our bedroom. There is a...

Although our stay was conformtable enough, we felt it very old fashioned that our private bathroom was not an en-suite and instead was down the corridor with a seperate key to let ourselves in and out. This is not very practical if needing the toilet throughout the night. The room itself was also very old and cold and needed updating....

My wife & I spent a day and night here as we where attending a Birthday nearby and we were very impressed with the staff and accommodation, it is a typical old Cornish Inn/hotel so don't expect 5star city accommodation but it's fantastically quaint with very friendly staff especially Peter and a young blonde lady who welcomed us. It's located...

Take the ferry from Fowey to Bodinnick (2 minutes) & pub overlooks Fowey harbour. Some steps to climb to reach the restaurant but very pleasant dining room with views across the estuary. Good choice of menu & food was good though steak was underdone.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated on the banks of the Fowey River Estuary in the picturesque village of Bodinnick, The Old Ferry is a quintessential Cornish Inn that has been providing accommodation and refreshment for over 400 years. We overlook the Bodinnick to Fowey ferry which can trace its roots back to the 13th Century, and 'Ferryside' the former family home of Daphne du Maurier. The Inn with its relaxed and warm welcome has many traditional features including a wood burner and stone slate floor, and is full of old photographs, nautical bric-a-brac and memorabilia. The perfect place to while away time during the winter months. Our panoramic restaurant gives fantastic river views towards the town of Fowey and the village of Polruan. There are also south facing outside terraces which also have splendid estuary views, and capture the sun all day, a perfect retreat for a summers day. ... more   less
