We stayed for a one night stay with dinner .Our room was very comfortable and had every amenity. Every member of staff we met was very welcoming and seemed to take a pride in looking after us. The food in the restaurant was amongst the best I have ever tasted . We plan to return at some point.

We were very disappointed with this hotel, incredibly tired and in need of complete refurbishment. We were conned into a very expensive meal that was nice but not worth the price. We were not advised we could have gone to the Bistro instead. Grubby corded hand rail for the stairs not helpful for someone with limited mobility like myself. Plug in sink held by a thread! Lack of staff around to ask for drinks. £4 for a cup of tea! The nicest thing was the fire.

I cannot speak highly enough of the incredible kitchen lead by chef Ian McAught. Have been a veggie since my 20s and I think the vegetable black pudding with pesto and tiny sweet drop peppers is one of the best dishes I have ever experienced. Lots of different taste sensations exploding on your tongue with every mouthful. Its not just a great meal, this hotel provides an exceptional dining experience which we really appreciated.

We were in the" Potting shed " restaurant tonight. Our meal was excellent & the surroundings were beautiful. We had a lovely evening until one of the waitresses as we were paying told us how many businesses have had to shut in the town &" Covid was rife in Callander ". Considering this was our first holiday in 18 months cos we have been shielding & only our second meal out in that time the waitress should have considered that she was talking to one of the party who has anxiety & spent the rest of this evening really worried about the situation.

A lovely family lunch at The Pitting Shed en route to Aberfeldy, Food excellent and staff extremely helpful given that we had a toddler with us and they catered for her no problem. The Roman Camp is my most favourite hotel in Scotland and I look forward to staying there in October. It cant be beaten for food, service, ambience and quality. It is 110 per cent. I have had to answer Not Sure to questions below as we were not staying in the hotel and have not done so during Covid but will give a review after my October stay. Can’t wait!
