We called in a couple of times for a quiet evening drink. The bar is well decorated and comfortable. We enjoyed the company of Liu who is currently running the hotel singlehanded. We will be back when next in the area.

I LOVE this hotel! This is our second year in a row booking it for our get together in September. The rooms are huge, with giant bathrooms. We were on the second floor, and had a lovely view. The rooms are very clean and the manager is wonderful - he came up with a bucket of ice and glasses for us to enjoy our wee night in! The staff are super hard working and somehow manage to look after this huge hotel. Downside: there is a lot of traffic noise because of being on the main road during the day, but it was quieter overnight. Also we need more hooks to hang jackets, towels, clothing etc BUT… the downsides are almost nothing when measured against the lovely atmosphere and beautiful architecture of the hotel and the attentiveness of the staff. I would suggest that the toilets on the top floor be renamed “Poo with a View”.

For the money this hotel did exactly what it says in the tin. It is clean with no frills and en suite bathroom. The staff are lovely and they are dog friendly too! Walking into the dreadnought is like stepping back into another era! We really enjoyed ourselves and perfect location for all local amenities. Would stay there again!

Me and the Mrs plotted up for a night in the lovely town of Callander and found the hotel very well located and extremely spacious. The only issue is that the walls are paper thin and we had a herd of elephants staying above us

The room was very spacious and very clean. We were touring Scotland on motorbikes bikes so had lots of stuff to store which the room did easily There was a table and two chairs in the room as well as a sofa so we could relax after a day touring The owner and his wife were very helpful and friendly, they went out of their way to make sure the stay was pleasant. The hotel is dated in some areas but the owners are clearly working to resort and update The restaurant was not open but there are lots of places to eat nearby
