We picked this hotel as it was dog friendly. The service, accommodation and food were excellent. It was nice to relax after our day out and feel so welcome with our dog. I was looking forward to sitting by a log fire, but there was only one in the lobby and not enough room to sit and stay. Would love to return soon.

What a lovely hotel! Beautifully done up, great staff, well stocked bar, excellent food and dog friendly! Loved the nice touch with doggy towels and a selection of hotel wellies at the entrance, how thoughtful. The rooms were perfect too, all amenities were available, from coffee to ironing board to retro radio and I adored the birch tree wallpaper. Lots of little nice touches. We will definitely be back, next time with our dog.

Could not fault the staff, the hotel itself or the food. Just before we left my husband gave a decent tip to one of the staff members we felt had looked after us particularly well. Simultaneously I was at reception paying our bill. When I mentioned to my husband on the way home that the itemised bill contained separate service charges (not for room service incidentally, which we didn’t use) he was pretty upset - especially bearing in mind that virtually every time we visited the bar area, he’d had to go up to the bar to request drinks. These service charges had obviously been applied as customers were supposed to have their orders taken at the tables! Such a shame about all that. We would otherwise have made a return visit and recommended others.

This was our second visit and it lived up to our expectations. A wonderful setting just outside the village. Rooms are clean and airy. The bar is a splendid place to relax after exploring the surrounding area. Only had breakfast which was excellent with plenty of choice. The staff are all fantastic and nothing was too much trouble.

My husband and I had a lovely evening away together. The hotel is positioned in a beautiful area within the New forest. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was fantastic and the hotel and lovely and cosy with the greeting of a lovely fire. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. We loved our weekend away and would love to return in the future.

Excellent location in the heart of the new forest. Spotlessly clean ,very welcoming & friendly staff. It has a very extensive drinks menu. The food in the main restaurant was outstanding as well as good value for money.we had a lovely comfortable room with everything you would expect. The breakfast was both a buffet and hot food cooked to order which was also of a high standard. All in all we highly recommend this hotel & would not hesitate to stay here again
