Purchased a voucher for a discount deal on a cream tea for two and went to visit today with a friend. Arrived a little late, with one less party member - not a problem they said. Kind, attentive, polite and very friendly young staff present. They couldn't do enough for us and offered to refill our tea as many times as we'd like. The tea itself was delicious, egg, salmon, cucumber and ham sandwiches as fresh as if they were made that second and very tasty! There were two types of huge scones - plain, or sultana ones, with very generous portions of clotted cream and jam for both of us. Followed by the most delicious, moist and mouth-watering lemon drizzle cake, chocolate brownies, (thick and really fudgy) topped off with beautiful palet cleansing small blackberry yoghurt pots. Lovely laid back, relaxed atmosphere, easy parking, easy to find, the whole experience was just wonderful. Thanks to all the staff, you're all a credit to your bosses - and to your generation - well done! :)

“Whoever trained your staff have done a fantastic job. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with professionalism and courtesy by Jak He showed us to our room and offered to carry our bags. The same professionalism was shown by ALL the staff we encountered throughout our stay. We thought that the staff were the best we had encountered at any hotel we have stayed in and we holiday at least once per month. The Gin Flights were a delight we ended up having two each and the knowledge of the staff around the Gins and the variety offered was exceptional – next time we come to the new forest we will come to you for these alone. Breakfast each day was very good freshly cooked and nicely presented – compliments to your chef. Love the coffee machine in the room and the staff were very quick to restock the compliments bar as soon as we asked for it. Overall, we would give you 5*‘s and will not hesitate to choose you as our first choice of stay next time we are in the New Forest. We will recommend you highly to our friends. Thank you for a delightful experience”

Firstly the staff at this hotel are outstanding. So helpful and friendly. But the house keeping really let it down. Our room was very dusty and didn't feel clean at all. The curtains were hanging off the rail and all they needed were about 10 new hooks. I felt this was just lazy, it would of only taken a few minutes to replace them

What a disappointing review! To say that the staff are outstanding but then to raise those comments about the same staff in a public online review is not very kind. Our wonderful hardworking staff read every review and take every comment very personally - and all that such a low review score does is damage our small family business. Every room is deep cleaned thoroughly after every stay, especially in the current challenging circumstances and is then thoroughly checked by the housekeeper and the manager. We are very sorry that this room did not feel clean, but we can reassure future guests that every room is clean - as evidenced by the high review scores below.

Highly recommend this amazing and welcoming venue. Superb service from the team for our Afternoon Tea and Gin Flight last Friday. Excellent response time regards our online booking, and our Afternoon Tea was absolutely delicious! Fabulous Gin Flights too! Extremely professional, and friendly staff made for a lovely relaxed and fun afternoon. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and will be back next time we’re in Brockenhurst. Thank-you :-)

Had a great weeks stay here. The breakfasts are incredible. The best eggs I have ever had and the menu is superb. The hotel has a lot of character, the rooms out at the back less so. But the location is everything. Central to the New Forest so you can everywhere by car, bike or train as needed. Bike racks that you can lock your bike to are available inside the hotel. And the village has so many top class restaurants. Just please fix the blinds in the rooms, I don’t like people looking at me :) from outside. And sorry I stole the room key, I didn’t mean to.
