I often take friends here. It is a proper old style pub to look at. Good selection of beers. The food is always good standard pub fare. The staff are friendly. The Sunday lunch was tasty with lots of choice.

Great old fashioned pub/restaurant serving excellent food, a little more expensive than the norm for this area but well worth the extra pound or two, the inside is quaint old English travellers inn with much olde worlde charm. Was surprised by the quality of the food which made it a very good dining experience

Lovely hotel on the main road from Bude to Bideford. Staff were friendly and the food was very good both at dinner and breakfast. The room was very comfortable with a large bathroom and plenty of hot water for bath and shower. The bedroom looks to have been recently redecorated although there is some discolouration on the external wall and...

We chose this hotel for its proximity to the coast path and did two walks, one at Hartland and one direct from the Hotel to Bucks Mill and Peppercombe. We had a deluxe room and used the restaurant for lunch and dinner. The rooms were clean and pleasantly decorated. Ours was adjacent to the road but the double glazing and...

We stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of the year whilst travelling through Cornwall and Devon and were very happy to find this dog friendly, cosy inn with rooms. The staff are pleasant and helpful. There is plenty of parking space at the rear of the property. Drive through the archway on the left hand side of the hotel...

We chose to say here for the location being 30 mins from the helipad to Lundy and great reviews on line. We booked the suite with 4 poster which was warm and welcoming as were all the staff. The beer selection excellent and the food was way above pub standard, breakfast is cooked to order with a wide selection of...

Warm and welcoming well kept Golden Pig and Tribute bitter. Delicious Artichoke & stilton pie with asparagus, wilted spinach on a potato rosti White chocolate & raspberry cheesecake to die for. Drop off the A39 for a treat. The spring flowers are out with a trickling waterfall on one side of the rear car park lovely!

We stayed here overnight to break up our long journey. Having found it quite last minute at at a very reasonable price we weren't sure what to expect. However, what we found was very nice. We checked in very late but having called ahead we were directed where to collect our keys so had no problems on arrival. Our room...

I am prompted to write my first review on any hotel after staying at Hoops last weekend for two nights. We had originally booked a superior double room for the Saturday night only, but at the last minute were able to travel down on Friday. Booking a slightly cheaper room at late notice was no problem. When we arrived we...
