A delightful character hotel in Driffield with wonderful caring staff. The food was excellent, both evening meal and breakfast served in rooms of character and it was great to be able to use leisure facilities onsite. Our bedroom had a period furnished sitting room reached by a few narrow steps down which was charming and a surprise!

Walking around Driffield we popped into the Bell in for Scone and Coffee before 11am and very good they are and well worth a visit. The Lunch Menu was on the table and had a very good selection to choose from and we will make sure we try it next time, there is a well stocked bar and plenty of...

Its good to hear that you enjoyed your time with us. We do the coffee and scones mon-sat along with the lunch you saw the menu for. Sundays are slightly different, instead we do a traditional sunday dinner. Thank you for the lovely comments and we hope to see you again soon.

I had to Visit York on Business, but did not want the bustle of a noisy City during my off time, so chose The Bell in Driffield, I am never disappointed By The Best Western Chain, the hotel was welcoming and all well appointed, the Bar and Restaurant were both excellent, I needed to print of a sensitive email, and...

This hotel is very old and does not seem to have been updated in many years. Our room was a good size but it lacked functionality. There were no proper bedside tables and a lack of conveniently placed power points. The bed was very uncomfortable. Towels were not changed despite being placed in the bath as instructed. The Wifi did...

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your thoughts, and I am sorry that your stay with us wasn't up to your standard. The hotel is very old its an 18th century building with fittings and furniture in keeping with this style, however it has all the facilities needed and is maintained to a high standard. What a surprise i got when we entered The Bell Hotel on Friday lunch time, not only was i surprised to see an old colleague, Joanne working the floor, but could not believe how busy it was and nobody was helping her to serve meals or helping the girl behind the bar. We had to wait for tables to be...

Thank you for your comments, I am glad you enjoyed your meals. Lunch times really vary with us as to how busy we get, one day can be fairly quite and the next really busy. Because of this the staff are told to let us know if they need a hand. I myself was very surprised on this day when...

Went with colleagues expecting a quality afternoon tea as meals here are good home cooking. What a disappointment. Sandwiches were tiny consisting of oneof each of cheese, egg and ham a slice of plain quiche which was one mouthful and a tea plate consisting of a scone, chocolate bun and a sliver of cheesecake. The teapot was replenished. However at £12.50...

I am sorry that you were disappointed with your afternoon tea. The sandwiches on the afternoon tea are finger sandwiches, egg, cheese and ham. There are 9 finger sandwiches between 2 people and a slice of quiche each. There is then a scone with jam and fresh cream, cheesecake, a chocolate and fresh cream bun and a chocolate brownie bite...

Had a great 2 night stay in this quirky hotel. We ate in the hotel both nights and the food was excellent, as was breakfast, with plenty of choice. We couldn't figure out how to get to the spa from the hotel without going across the car park, but this is somewhere we'll definitely stay again.

Thank you, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, quirky is defiantly one way to describe the hotel :) There is a way to get to the spa from the hotel, as you were in room 16 you would have had to have gone upstairs to find it, if you come and visit again we would be...

25 years ago The Bell was an extremely comfortable hostelry, with above average amenities and food. Unfortunately, not much seems to have changed since then. Room was clean and tidy, basic facilities functional, but the whole place seems in need of a refresh / refurbishment. Staff were great, friendly and helpful, but they deserve to be working in a brighter...

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your thoughts. The Bell Hotel is an 18th century building and modernising it is something that the we don't want to do.
