My husband and I recently stayed at Douneside House for two nights (three days) and had a wonderful time. The service from start to finish was personal and second to none - all members of staff couldn't do enough for us. Our room was beautifully furnished, and spotless and the bathroom positively luxurious from the underfloor heating to the heated...

A wonderful country house that has been exquisitely refurbished to a very high standard. A beautiful setting in the heart of Aberdeenshire where relaxation and luxury meet attention to detail and friendly, personal service.

A stunning wedding in the conservatory, which has a beautiful wooden ceiling strung with lights. The staff are superb and really professional but also very approachable and friendly. There was no element of comfort and helpfulness not already thought of. The decor is excellent and both the main house and the cottages are great. Even the beds were comfortable. The...

Marvellous location, exceptional accommodation and really attentive staff. Food 5+ star. Quality of furnishings in room was first class and the apartment was well equipt for short or long stay. Great views across the lawn.

Rooms come in a variety of sizes to suit most tastes. All newly decorated and looking spick and span, this hotel has recently had a major makeover and the quality and elegance of the decor and furnishings have to be admired. Windows look out onto miles of rolling Scottish countryside. Tarland is a small and peaceful place so if you're...

Got a great D,B&B offer from Great escapes - went with 3 friends for a girls night away. Beautiful hotel and grounds, just been refurbished and looks fantastic. Warm, cosy and relaxing lounges - like staying in a friends home. We had 2 rooms both comfortable, warm and with great showers. Very warm welcome and enjoyed the wee tour of...

We enjoyed the marvellous taster menu with diverse wines, a very special occasion for us. Douneside House is a very special place with superlative gardens, its new health centre and a focus on service coming from its charitable foundations. The cottage room was generally fine, we left some advice to make it even better.

Just back from a lovely weekend at the Dounside House. It was wonderful. The hotel is gorgeous: beautiful grounds, warm and inviting entrance and places to sit, cozy bar, nice restaurant, stunning bedrooms and a small but perfectly formed health club. The staff were superb and really added to the lovely relaxing atmosphere. can't wait to go back!

Booked this hotel with a dinner b&b offer. On arrival we were given a small tour and history of the building, which was very interesting. There are items throughout the hotel connected to the family history which adds to the ambiance. Log fires giving off that cosy feel. We opted for the taster menu which had some interesting flavours and...
