The outside appearance looks dour and in need of a makeover. However, I must say that the position of the hotel is great. You are within walking distance of the harbour, the beach and the town. You can also take an early morning stroll to pick up a newspaper just a few paces from the hotel .The decor of the... More

We were a party of 35 Bowlers from Barnstaple North Devon staying at the Crown Hotel for 2 nights whilst on a mini tour. The hotel could not be more central to the town centre as well as being adjacent to the 'lifting' bride over the river/estuary.. It was warm, clean and the staff were great. I had a single... More

My room over looked the side street adjacent to the hotel. The window in the room was a wooden sash style single glazed window frame. Motor bikes and young revellers in the side street prevented any sleep until around 2am every night !.

We had a great weekend here. The hotel is brilliantly situated - between the harbour and the town centre. Staff were helpful and friendly, rooms were clean, food was nice (and plentiful). Bit of noise at night but not an issue for us. Will return in the future without doubt.

Good long weekend stay. Street parking only with parking permit £20 returnable deposit just a few minutes from hotel. First impression was old building in need of refurbishment, but everywhere was clean and fully equipped. Room 56 at rear was large with double and single bed very quiet at night. Wi Fi only available in Reception or first floor lounge... More

I stayed here last week in a room at the front of the hotel. On the first night the noise from those exiting the nightclub opposite was horrendous. It lasted from 11.00pm until about 2.30 in the morning. When I asked for another room the following morning I was told that the club held a students' night on a Monday... More

Just returned from a far too short weekend in Weymouth as my young lady's family was visiting all the way from Poland. It was their first time in the UK so I thought we could go for a little road trip and show them the beauty of the jurassic coast in the process. We ventured to Corfe Castle where they... More

I had a weekend at this hotel, in my opinion the hotel was outdated and needed a good redecoration and moving into the 21st century, I still had lots of memorabilia from the 1970's Cunard days. The staff in the reception were pleasant, the bar staff were very polite. What can I say about the restaurant staff at best rude and... More
